Apparently my computer is not as beast as i thought it was lol. Anything you can suggest that would buff up my comp to a playable level? I would like it to handle SMNC when it comes out. Currently I have a 3 month old HP Pavilion Slimline with no additions to it. I'm looking to keep it under $150 or more if i have to. Pretty computer illiterate.
More specs please? There are several versions of that model. A graphics card for 100$ should do it though. Wait a few minutes for edit. Here goes: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102952 Looks good to me. Should play the newest games at a pretty good framerate (not on the highest quality though) and isn't very expensive. Tomorrow I'm gonna check in a magazine because I think there have been new sub-100 graphic cards, but not sure.
Under $150? Honestly, I don't think that it's really worth buffing it, but maybe you can upgrade the ram (I think you can only have 2 GB of ram tough) or maybe a videocard.
It has windows 7 Model s5702f AMD Athlon II X2 240 processor 2800 Mhz, 2 cores, 2 Logical processors 4 GB RAM I think a videocard should do the trick right? all i want to do is play the beta/game with it.
Graphics card should do it, see my first post. If there are still some problems, (highly doubt it though) since the game hasn't been optimized in the least, there are some FPS configs.
Thanks dude I will look into it. I plan on buying one within the next few days, I'll let you know how it turns out.
You're going to need a low profile (or "low profile ready") card for an HP slimline case. That's going to limit your options a bit... I would go with something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814121441 or this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... %20profile
I was wondering about that too, thanks taters <3 Any preference between the two? I'll fork over the 10 bucks if the other one is that much better. You have the beta btw? i d/l'd it today but needless to say I only played a game.
Sooo i bought a card, opened up my pc and guess what... It only has PCI express x1 slots. No SMNC for me
Well, damn, I was actually going to post that you should give me the model number so I can make sure. The HP Slimlines I've seen have PCI-E x8 or x16 but I guess not all. You could put a machine together for $400-$500 that could play it well.
