Recently I smacked the old Annihilator button and was killed in mid animation. It subtracted the money from me but did not go off, and was then set off by the opposing team. *shakes fist*
That's been going on for as long I can remember. I think I've had it happen to me about 3 or 4 times already. I figured it was intentional, even though accounting for lag between you and the player who killed you, it seems difficult to perform consistently enough to be intentional...
This happened to me on the weekend, I sometimes sacrifice myself for the annihilator to help the team out and I was like "YES, I GOT IT" but I only lost money and the enemy team got it...
If you're killed before your character completes the animation for triggering an Annihilator or Ejector, your money goes away. That's all there is to it. Maybe the money shouldn't be deducted until the device activates?
