There has got to be some sort of way to "punish" people who ragequit out of games.

Maybe punish isnt the right word. Maybe make it so these people are significantly less likely to be the game host if theyre the type to ragequit or they have a weak internet connection that makes them disco often.

i wonder if there was a way to keep a count on hosts who rage quit before the match ends , and when they do it more than a # of times they loose hosting privilege for a month and must play off-host till the penalty period is over.

Uber would need to account for the people who quit for other game-related issues too, though (not just "oh yeah, dinner" or something like that).

The only time I've quit early wasn't out of rage but because I got stuck in the spawn room (a clear glitch) or one of my abilities wasn't upgrading even though I threw down the cash to do it.

Otherwise I agree. I hate that sort of unsportsmanlike conduct.

My main issue with it is, it creates a huge pause in the game and often people get disconnected during host migration. Major bummer.

With a game like this I think it would be a little difficult to have a way to "punish" or provide a negative effect to those that quit or rage quit. Most of the time I don't even think those people that do quit realize that they are host for the game. I realize that since this is a downloadable title then there is a much smaller likelihood of there being servers for the game so P2P is the best way to host these games. ( so that option is probably out the door at this point. ) Probably the best way to give thought to someone who rage quits is to have some profile money taken away per each occurrence. After 1 time nothing should happen ( because disconnecting is always an option ) but starting on the second ( per day ) lets say like $1000 or $5000 gets reduced out of their "earned" pile to be able to buy pro tags or custom class slots. Or another idea would be to "lock" their custom class slots for a day or so after a certain amount of occurrences.

    Meh, just a thought.

I dislike it, and only really care if it disrupts the hosting process and impacts my game.

But surely, it could be delineated along the lines of frequency. Most people aren't going to quit frequently enough for "dinner" to be marked as if they're rage quitters. And as long as there's no severe penalty for it, I'm not sure I'm worried about the overflow.

It's not like we're talking bannings or anything.

Having only ever had problems with d/c's once or twice I don't see the end result of penalizing people for quitting. Taking money from them would be ok, but more the money they earnt in that game should be dismissed as well as xp, neither of which are hard to come by and the money doesnt do enough for rage quitters to care, if it will save them some ratio then fair trade..

a loss on record no money OR no xp (which is harsh as their might be a valid excuse).

FYI the player review system in your Xbl Account has a reason other then saying "you're cool!" Submitting a bad player review ensures that you'll be more likely to not join a game if said player is in it.

Players can simply avoid showing on your recent player list so if the lobby gets dropped how will you submit feedback? Blatant cheaters already know how to manipulate the system.

The sad thing about rage quitting is that in this game (as far as I can tell) you're not actually punished for losing. You still get your cash at the end and can even gain levels. Rage quitting already penalizes you because you lose any cash you made and the time you spent playing is wasted. If host migration worked more then 1 out of 20 times, this probably wouldn't even be an issue.
