    Hello all.

Longtime fan of SupCom 1, (haven't tried TA; SupCom was the spiritual successor of TA right?) and I have some questions with how the "macro" gameplay will work in Planetary Annihilation.

PS: Although the video doesn't show off most of these, but I thought I'd comment on them anyway.

    1) Base Defense

-> Will you be able to design anti-land and anti-air defense turrets, to combat land and air units?
-> Will you be able to launch "tactical" missiles at your enemy? In addition, will you have defenses to counter "tactical" missiles?
-> Will you be able to have artillery platforms? Will there be any defense to counter them (I know it was mentioned somewhere that there are no shields... which imo were a bit OP in SupCom)?
-> Now I saw "strategic/nuke" missiles in the trailer. Will there be anti-nukes to counter them?
-> Also from the trailer, it seems like Asteroids are pretty hard to destroy... will there be a defense available to destroy an incoming asteroid?
-> How do you prevent an enemy player from landing on your planet, moon or asteroid? Is there going to be defenses available to prevent a hostile landing party? I would assume yes, but I felt I should ask.

    Units:

-> Will there be "tiers" of units? ie in SupCom 1, you would get T1 units, T2 units, etc...
-> Will there be "research" or a "research tree" in the game? Possibly to improve current units?
-> Will units in the beginning of the game be useful even near to the end of the game?
-> Will there be different types of air units? Ie fighters, bombers, and gunships?
-> Will there be "experimental" units or "super" units?
-> Will there be repair, and salvage vehicles? similiar to engineers in SupCom1?
-> Will there be air transport units, that can say ferry units around on a planet, or onto another planet? (I did notice that unit artillery cannon, but that seemed only a one-way ticket)

    Queueing:

-> Is there a maximum number of engineers you can put onto a single building project?
-> Is there a maximum number of units that can be built?
-> Will there be a "continous" construction option which basically just keeps building the same unit over and over again?

    Asteroids:

-> I like this idea a lot, but got some questions about it.
    1) How do you prevent these from destroying your base?
    2) Is it going to be expensive to build asteroid bombards? Ie could you build 10 of them and send them all at once at an enemy?
    3) I noticed that a single asteroid in the trailer destroyed the ENTIRE planet... will this be the case in the final game, or will it just leave a MASSIVE crater?

Re: Questions about Planetary Annihilation from a SupCom 1 F

A lot of your questions are answered in this thread:

    viewtopic.php?f=61&t=34022

Read the stickies next time -_- .

Also, a lot of the things are "up in the air" as far as decisions go right now, so nobody can tell you for sure what the answer is.

Regarding planetary bombardment, they're obviously going to try to make it balanced. If it was a one-shot-kill weapon that was easy to build it'd result in kind of a stupid game, don't you think?

They've said that depending on the investment and size of asteroids they might obliterate areas of the map (i.e. make certain areas of the map full of lava or rocks that you can't build on). The concept video also showed missile defenses - perhaps those can be used to break up an asteroid before impact lessening or even eliminating the damage from it? It's all concept for now.

    :D

Wish it was a bit higher, I'm getting to close.
