Ok, I notice that not even on the wikia do we yet have a sure list of the bots that spawn when a Pro goes and spends money at the garage. Having played at PAX East, and watching a number of youtube videos here and there for bot attributes, let's see what we can come up with using this picture: And also a list of attributes from the FAQ: First, we know that the Slim and Blackjack bots are automatically spawned throughout the game. So let's focus on the next six bots. At PAX East, a long, long time ago after which the game has been most definitely changed, I played exclusively the Assault and Support. I tried buying bots, unsure of how it worked, and for the Assault at least I know I spawned a Bouncer bot. The Bouncer bot acts a lot like the Assault itself. It has a jumping lunge which automatically goes into a grapple when it connects, just like the Assault's charging red skill. So, Assault <--> Bouncer Next, let's quickly solve for the two assassination classes, the Assassin and Sniper. Thanks to this thread, http://uberent.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=672, we know that the Gremlin is for sure the Assassin bot. Next, the video from this thread, http://uberent.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=666 (why is this the only video to come out of Comic con again?), shows off the Gap Shot, who appears to be a robot preferring long range. Sniper bot if I ever saw one. Assassin <--> Gremlin Sniper <--> Gap Shot Wait a second though. After watching the Sniper's character video and reading about his freezing traps, I noticed that they sap your skills as well. That matches the description of the Scrambler bot. The bot does melee instead of ranged damage, but the Sniper is much more powerful close range once you use juice. Maybe it's the Support, who's draining beam might have the ability to sap skills as well once you upgrade his passive to level 3. I don't know. The other bots I'm not sure for either. There's still the kamikaze Buzzer bots, for whom I have the crazy notion in my head that they belong to the Tank, a character that's short in out of armor stature, and usually gets close and fiery personal in his encounters. Oh, and the Jackbot. Can a character even summon him, or does he just come out on his own at preset intervals? His very nature is overpowering, but a take down does reward players with a bunch of candy. But then, who can summon him? His shockwaves remind me of the Gunner, but from playing at PAX East I think he belongs to the Support, barring any major memory atrophy. However, if no one can buy this bot on their own, then it could mean that a single Pro is left out in the cold with only the ability to buy better versions of the Slim and Blackjack bots. And now I've come to the rest of you, to try and figure out this puzzle before the game releases, just to see if we can, and then update the wikia for it. What we have left to solve is: ? <--> Scrambler ? <--> Buzzer ? <--> Jackbot Gunner <--> ? Tank <--> ? Support <--> ? From what we know of these bots, what makes the most sense to you? Why do I even care so much? Well, if the game has bots as an added layer of depth, three of them specializing in killing off enemy Pros, it seems like a fundamental attribute of a Pro to know. Someone might switch class just to spawn a specific robot type that's effective against the enemy team's strategy. Also, there's just plain curiosity as the final days of the game's release countdown tick by...
Jackbot is released on a timer on both sides. (another person asked in another thread if memory serves) And I'd imagine most characters have a bot equivelent. However, if any one didn't, i'd guess it to be the support. I'm guessing some bots may be shared, or you might even be able to pick from all as Support. I know that the hulking gorilla one made me think of the Gunner.
If some bots were to be shared, which ones do you think would be? My first guess would be the Bouncer, as many characters in the game have grabs, but that's not much to go by. There's also the Gap Shot having something in common with the Gunner and Tank, as both of those Pros have stationary deployment modes.
Thanks to a video from Smitty, this one in particular, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHMNXAb9Hgg#t=7m2s, we see the Sniper build a Gremlin bot. So he doesn't do the Gap Shot. Which screws up everything. So either bot building always sends out an eliminator bot based on how much cash you have on hand, or I matched them up wrong, or something else.
Also, to add on the Slim bot -- they are designed to target the player closest to them with the least amount of health. When you have 4 or 5 of those with a Bouncer and some Buzzers ... wow, they can tear through a team of Pro's pretty quick.
