I often find opponents (both Ai and player) dropping units directly on top of my commander which dies almost immediately. There is no way to counter the tactic. Am I the only one who finds this annoying?
You should always have your commander tucked away somewhere with umbrellas and anti-nukes to protect against snips by unit cannons, satellites, nukes etc. Or better yet, have the commander moving around in areas with these defenses so they can't easily predict exactly where he'll be.
I forgot about the catapults anti-orbit abilities. Guess Bluehawks would work too, though the missiles are slow with a slow ROF, umbrellas are better.
A small group of bluehawks around your com will wreck any drop pod attempts. They've got a secondary faster weapon for dealing with pods.
I generally place a fare few umbrella's around my commander but some still seem to get through. I'll make sure to add some catapults and/or bluehawks to my base defenses in the future. Thanks
Don't forget to leave a welcome party for them on the ground....in the form of bombers, booms or slammers.
