If I have a previous ban on VAC (CS:S) and I download this game will I be banned as well? P.S. Gotta love random VAC bans due to a stolen account
It's not a random ban if your account got abused. Password to easy, virus/trojaner ... so not Valves fault.
You shouldn't be banned. Vac banned only effects games that use the same engine. I can't remember the lists but its something like CSS ban knocks you out of L4D2 but not L4D1 and tf2 maybe.
CSS would kick you off l4d1 2 and tf2 I'm pretty certain. They all use the latest version of source currently. You'd probably be able to play HL2 multiplayer though
You ARE banned in MNC as well. MNC uses VAC. And VAC bans are linked between all games that uses VAC.
I would say that, either way, now would be a good time to start a different acct. Since you will be playing a different game on it, what's the point on using a damaged acct? Especially if you don't care much for the old acct and/or it's games. All I can say, is that if you are not banned on TF2, or more specifically a different Unreal3 game, then you probably won't be banned by VAC on MNC.
no he will only be banned for games that use the same engine so he will be banned for all source games, games that run on the unreal engine he will not be banned from. Also just buy it on a new steam account and this time do not cheat, cos if someone suspects you of cheating in mnc and you have previous vac bans it is not going to look good.
He will "only" be banned from games that uses Steamworks, and since Steamworks is implemented into MNC. And VAC is a part of Steamworks. Whether it's the unreal engine or the source engine doesn't matter.

I don't believe so since people seem to think that vac ban = banned from all vac games which isn't the case.
