So, I love me some MNC. I exclusively play Assassin. I am terrible at every other class. I know that hatred and "cat calling" is a standard to gaming - almost a staple. However, I find that in MNC, this is the average conversation that a Prestige level Sin deals with during their gaming session: We played seven games (each denoted by the blank line <Color:/>). My team lost 1 game during that time (easy enough to see which). The steady downhill of decency shows how the hatred spreads to others. Its good to see that others out there don't like it, but it just goes to show that they become outlets of frustration too. The most interesting thing is though: I never see this against higher level players of other classes. I've been in a series of games with WhiteHawke and ARSON1ST raping 30-4 a piece and no one says a peep. Is this just a Sin thing? Or do other's with prestige feel the burn as well? tl;dr P.S: I still can't see text in lobbies and after games - and sometimes during. Is there a random fix for this, or should I be filling in a bug report with my PC specs?
Assassins and Snipers are inherently more annoying than other classes. Because with really good assassins or snipers, there is no battle. They either kill you, fail to kill you and escape, or leave you alone. The other players probably just feel pretty helpless.
oh hey i was in that match... yeah that guy...rage..i dont remember but i dont think he was that good
You're good. They suck. They refuse to admit they suck, and instead focus thier attention on "You're good". They lost somehow, and need something to pin it on. Refusing to pin it on themselves, they pin it on you - You're too good and they decide to be assholes about it. You'll see that this is apparent in many multiplayer games, and by that, I mean every game that has ever existed (Even sports). It's also why hackusations are so prominant throughout gaming.
I'm not prestige myself, but I do see a couple of 'lol u has no life' towards those who do (sins too; go figure), and really, it should be taken with a grain of salt. It's equivalent to all the noob calling that gets tossed around ever so carelessly. Once people get their panties in a bunch, they get stimulated to say all kinds of funny things like that. It's natural for people to get pissed off after being killed by sins and snipers. These are just the ones who get vocal about it.
First off It's ALL-STAR! Anyways I find it funny he said something like you have no friends but yet he is the one getting all worked up. Online gaming is full of irony and it's quite funny at times.
awww you made the poor scrub rage in all honesty though them guys just paid you a big compliment. people are idiots in this game, i saw some raging at a sin other day, saying something about just mash that grapple button it is all you are good for, failing to understand if he is getting grappled all the time he is obviously not very good. Good sins are hard to come by but when you do face one they are deadly, i have a lot of respect for good sins as i think it is a very hard class to play well. also i got asked to leave a game the other day cos i was winning, the people who asked were all higher level than me too, they must just think they are pr0 cos they can win in pubs then cry when it doesn't go their way, this is the problem with scrubs.
I hate it when people rage. Either at new players or good ones, it really upsets me. Once I feel a game feels too hostile I will generally leave. I won't ragequit a loss/bad game, but I just hate dealing with jerks. I'm about to go all-star myself(level 98 atm). I get the occasional MVP, but it's almost always by a marginal amount. I hope I won't get this All-Star rage, I generally only play Shurisin and Support. Good any class can shut down a team though, have you ever seen the ridiculous tank/gunners out there?!? My backside hurts just thinking about it.
I don't rage very easily, but sometimes I come on monday night combat to unwind and get nothing but jackasses. Those are the times I honestly and truly get angry, and it is at that point I turn off my computer, turn up some serious bass, and get lost in the music, or just get a book and go to sleep. I think I'll do the latter, now.
First response nailed it. Encounters with Assassins and Snipers are brief and unsatisfying (in before that's what she said). Assassins in particular because of so much of what they do goes unseen and so quickly you never get the sense of them doing anything or have been doing anything. They pop up, you bop them, or they bop you and then one of you or both you leave. In TF2 I've always found good spies to be amazing especially when at the victim of one. MNC assassins are to pros what buzzers are to bots. Dangerous but unsatisfying to deal with.
People constantly complain about assassin because they are not good enough to fix their mistakes in playing against them. OMG I can't see you that is totally OP and you can 1 shot kill me OMG so even more OP. Totally ignoring the fact you can hear them coming from a mile off cloaked or have plenty of time to be ready after a blind jump. Also they have 300 health/600 gold armor; any weapon in the game tears them apart. That said: most people cannot aim to save their life (literally). Once you hear them coming all you have to do is hop around to defeat most all assassins without going into gunner slam, tank/assault charge (which is not advised at the moment do to netcode problems), assault bomb (just eat the bomb yourself then shoot her to pieces if need be), support shotgun (2 shot kill on gold armor), sniper trap and instant headshot or flak and smg to pieces, and if all else fails just run away if you really feel deep down you cant kill her without dying. Mostly it is the not being able to see you part and since they have a horrible attention span and can only focus on what is directly in front of them they easily rage. That said I get complaints quite often especially playing sniper. People just can't figure out if they try to go after me they will be trapped and shot in the head or flaked and smg'd. The worse complaints I get are trapping people in their spawn and holding down the whole team as soon as they walk out the door. Another "cheap OP" class that is easily taken care of if you know how. By knowing how I mean...don't walk into the same trap placement over and over. Lvl 2 Prestige Lvl 78 here. Their comments on having no life might actually apply to me.
I only rage about sins because of the grapple bug, as getting grappled by a sin who is 10+ feet away and in midair after you charge them is pretty lame. I tend to keep it to a single comment though, that guy is pretty ridiculous. Play with me moar! My games tend to have less people like that in them.
This game does not particularly promote friendliness in general, but it is true that certain classes are treated worse than others. I played up to level 76 as nothing but Assassin and got tons of whining and complaints even though I was only getting an average amount of kills. I joined a server where I had a huge ping and tried out other classes until I landed on Tank. I didnt even know all the buttons on Tank and was getting kills left and right. I have only played Tank for two levels and am going 11-0 or so most games, and people are complimenting me, and saying I have a nice Tank build. I keep reading about people saying Assassin is so cheap, but the fact is Tank is far cheaper. Can you even die in Tank? Is that even possible? I bet they didnt even bother making a death animation for Tank because you would never see it anyway. You just have to put up with bad attitudes in general, and worse attitudes towards certain characters. The reason snipers are hated is clear. They are hated in every game. But Assassin as a character takes that same flavor of cheap and reapplies it. People want a chance to fight back, and both Sniper and Assassin deny them that. Plus each time they die they have to wait through a long animation. This probably just pisses them off more. Also as for the hopping thing, I hop all the time, period. Doesnt matter if there is a cloaking hmm nearby. Hopping helps you to avoid Snipers as well, and frankly it just plain feels good. L. Spiro
I've been an All-Star since last week IIRC and only yesterday somebody actually asked me about it. Before that nobody cared about that Slim Bot (and nobody should). I get a lot of **** for being a good assassin, not a good assassin who is also an All-Star.
I just wanted to say that I joined into a losing game last minute yesterday around threeish EST and you were in it! I was looking forward to trying to fight against a good assassin when you left the lobby and it turned out everyone on the team that was winning was stacking :? Ah well, another time!
One time I played as Sin, someone was whining (a tank) about how I face grappled him(by accident), avoided his charge, and shurikaned him to death. After some tears, I baited him by calling him an unskilled tank, which he attempted to respond in kind about the Sin. While he was typing, however, I saw the tank standing next to the bot spawn, so I took the initiative by backgrappling, then shurikan him down. The resulting text was a half a rage sentence, combined with some colorful choice in vocabulary in the other half.
