So in addition to my "Friends joining the same teams" question, I've got another one: I'm stuck behind a router, and my hosting isn't showing up on the server list. Anyone know what ports need to be forwarded in order to get through?
huh. Maybe it's UDP I got the range from viewtopic.php?f=30&t=4952 which doesn't include the protocol, although I could have sworn it said TCP at some point.
Well, now I can host, but I crash midgame when hosting, heh. My friend who has the same ports forwarded and what not cannot see my game, but can join other games that I can also join. (Including your dedicated server, monk. Thanks. )
Some of you may be in what is refered to as a "double-NAT" situation where you have a router which is performing NAT as well as a DSL/cable-modem which may be set to perform NAT as well. The problem with the above being that you can set your router to forward all traffic on the specified ports to your box but if further UPSTREAM another device is still blocking traffic to those ports you can see how that would be futile. If needed I can write up a quick guide on how to properly configure one's network setup for hosting (as I've done for a few other games) but in the interim if you want you could download one of my old guides, follow the steps and REPLACE the ports listed in the guide (which would be for the wrong game) with: UDP 7777 UDP 7778 you can find my older networking guides for the gamer in the DOWNLOADS section at: http://www.themonk.ca thanks, the Monk
