http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/vi ... paign=auto So rumor says that for XBLA titles they're doubling the number of allowable achievements as well as the number of possible DLC's. Maybe Uber's work did pay off....for everyone else that is. Anyways, here's hoping you folks get a stab/shot at SMNC eventually. You've also got some other F2P titles headed there that should be encouraging (GCI, CSGO, Tribes: Ascend, etc.). Who knows what the future might hold?
If uber has no plans as of now I don't expect them anytime soon. It would be cool though, but although they want to go through a F2P model, I still think they should charge for it. It's well worth the price (MNC was) Microsoft will probably allow more DLC updates, but it will still probably be 40,000 to update it
I'm pretty sure that Uber's situation has really helped Microsoft's views on these issues. Now, I really hope Uber put in the amount of time complaining, explaining, and flat out bitching that deserves me making that statement. I'm guessing they did. After all, MNC was a highly showcased Summer of Arcade game. If Uber had any significant role in easing Microsoft's strict policies, it's pretty cool. We all got a game we love, and even though we got screwed on some things, some good may come of it.
But they are making more money with a F2P model. Heck I already put $60 into Super MNC and no doubt I am going to put more into it. Free to Play games that have a good business model tend to make more money than if the game was Pay to Play. Also it being free gives it has a higher change for mass public consumption. As for this topic, I think it's too little too late. The XBox 360 is coming to it's end and no serious dev. team is going to want to develop a game for a system that will be replaced in a few years.
Yeah, see, that is my really big concern with SMNC - I would rather pay for a finished game up front as opposed to be nickel and dimed to death. I hate paid DLC - especially launch day DLC that is already on the disc - if it is overdone, but don't mind if it is an occasional major update for a game I like. As long as they do it right, it will be tolerable (i.e., no paying for classes or combat relevant effects). I will try it out either way - I thought it was still in beta though? Or is it a beta in "the game is kind of broken and unbalanced so we are using it as an excuse to make you ok with it and make you feel special that you have one of the infinate codes for the game" sense of the word?
Ok so this is how Super MNC works. It is completely free to play. Classes like Sniper, Tank, Assassin now fill a certain role*. The game is updated every Thursday and sometimes on Friday. Every week there is a new set of Free Pros to play as, each Pro filling a role. Now by playing the game you earn in-game money. You could either use real money or the in-game currency to buy Pros permanently. Things like Skins and Taunts can ONLY be bought with real money. While Endorsements and Products can only be bought with in-game money. *The roles are: Enforcer: This is where the Tank and Gunner are. Commando: Assassin type classes. Striker: Assault type classes. Sharpshooter: Snipers Defenders: Healers
That doesn't sound too bad. Like I said, I will check it out as opposed to armchair judge it without actually playing it. I will reserve further comment until then. Thanks for the info, Deadstretch
No, I do not. I think I used Skype once for work, so if there is a RandomToon in there, it is not me. I did not manage to monopolize the name (I don't have the YouTube channel, twitter account, .com, etc.) because I only started using the moniker about 5 years ago or so :|
