The Camera shake in Superme Commander 1/FA are pertty good. It's really improve the battle feel/handing.

Please use Camera shake what-ever you can!

P.S.: In SC2, the camera shake is much less than SC1/FA, it doesn't feel good, and SC2's battle feel is way much worse than SC1/FA.

Not sure I agree with everywhere.

Camera shake definitely adds to the immersion, however it also affects your ability to rubber band or single click select accurately. Having it on 100% of the time you are under fire could actually affect your ability as a player to react, if you end up having to retry selections a few times.

Yet another UI option toggle / slider maybe? "Amount of camera shake --‖--------"

This is going to end up as "Planetary UI sliders" at this rate

Have an option to turn it off, or down.

Alternatively, shake the camera around the point that's under the mouse so that under the mouse isn't effected by the shake but areas away from it are.

It's more like pivoting the camera around that point, as opposed to a shaking perpendicular to the screen.

Camera shake interferes with player input. There are countless times I've had commands screwed up because of it.

It should be on for everyone so its fair.

Plus its a good gameplay feature for people who are deaf. Instead of them hearing the distant thuds, they varying amount of screen shake.

It was done rather well in TA too.

What? No. It should be optional.

If you want to make the game needlessly more difficult by actually bringing camera shake in as a mechanic, you don't need to drag the rest of us down.

This is a game about massive scale battles. Camera shake as a difficulty mechanic is just full out retarded.

Screenshake should be two things: One is optional. Two, is that it shouldn't affect the position of the mouse relative to the map. That way, when you DO encounter screenshake, you can still accurately select units and click on buttons. The UI should stay anchored as well, so the screenshake is only prosthetic.

So you care nothing for disabled people?

    How entitled.

    ... what?

You are clearly trolling, so I'm just not gonna put effort towards a counter to that.

"Aesthetic" is the word you're looking for.

They mentioned that the zooming will work similar to Google Earth so when you zoom all the way in, you should be literally on the battlefield.

Camera shake should appear only then since you won't be able to click anything but just watch the awesomeness happen.
Would be good to make it optional though in case it affects the game performance.

Err, how is suggesting "make it optional" automatically biased against disabled people? How is not having camera shake biased against paraplegics, for instance, or the partially sighted?

It helps immersion, and is a nice visual clue for partially or totally deaf people. I don't see how allowing for people to turn it off if they don't like it would be such an issue, or allowing for a slider to adjust the amplitude of the shake (assuming it is simple to implement; we're talking about a grass-roots development here that may need to cut some corners to come in on budget).

We could have a slider: Amount of sliders: --‖--------

Hard to do suggestion: Imagine the view as a frustum of a pyramid (top part inwards your screen) Base the real screenlevel. Now if you shake, shake only the base hold the top steady, so focus stays calm but there still is motion. like looking through a moving tube.

Edit: Shaking the UI would achieve this.

Why camera shake? For deaf people there are plenty of other and better visual cues you could have. Everything from blinking buttons to borders to a robot poping up on your screen running wildly around in circles while waving his arms in a state of panic whiles getting shot at. :)

On topic: Camera shake when stuff blows up is cool but not very essential to gameplay I think. :)

    Camera shake in FA?
I missed that in like 2000 hours of playing it.
