Dear Creators and General Community of Monday Night Combat I was an early adopter of the game, and at one time ranked in the top 3k worldwide in terms of Lifetime Earnings, Kills, and Wins. This was when Monday Night Combat first came out. I was simply ecstatic over your game. The game was smooth, there was almost no lag, and I was completely excited over a game I was so intensely into. I could not recommend it to enough people, and was absolutely thrilled at the prospect of playing. After a few months of fervent MNC battles, I had to put aside my Xbox and my gaming due to real life issues (Getting married, having a kid, moving, and a new job to name a few!). I put the game down. After what seemed like an eternity, my life fell into order and I was allowed free time again. After some experimentation with other games I once again booted up MNC and logged into several games. I was absolutely appalled at what I found. The game had become laggy, the gameplay choppy and everything was a mess. At first, I thought it was me. We had moved and we had changed ISP's, however my internet connect had improved from the old DSL in the old place and in any other game I was playing online at the time (CoD, Madden, WoW) I had almost zero lag. I immediately called my ISP and complained. After going over my internet connection, My router, and checking my port situation they said my internet connection was working in pristine condition. My next thought was "Hey, I have an old XBOX pro console: Perhaps the specs were updated!" (which in all reality was just an excuse for me to buy a new Xbox but moving on) so I happily shelled out the cash for the new, sleek Xbox360. After downloading the game anew and the free xpac I logged in and expected a smooth gameplay experience, only to find the SAME THING HAPPENING AGAIN!!!! I was mystified. At no time in any of the games I had played before I left MNC was there even a hint of lag, jitter, or stuttering. Yet now when I boot up the game on my console there is a half second pause when loading the main MNC screen. When "zoning in" upon joining a game or after respawning, there is a stutter on the screen like my system cannot quickly process what is being sent down. Firing Weapons, dodging, and even upgrading turrets cause pauses and game "stuttering". The worst of it occurs when an opponent I am near "Juices" and the graphics simply cause the game to freak out, seemingly going from normal FPS to 3-5FPS, usually resulting in my death. I convinced myself this HAD to be my internet connection, so after another round with my ISP and admitting that none of my other games had any kind of lag whatsoever, I upgraded my connection to the fastest I could afford (40mbps down/20mpbs up) and it STILL IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY!!!! I've deleted the game multiple times, reinstalled it, tried multiple consoles.....nothing is working. I have no idea what is wrong. None. No searches on the internet turned up anything like my issue. Could someone please tell me what has happened? Not a single game I have played since I returned to the game has been anywhere near as lag free or as smooth as it used to be. I am more than willing to submit my connection to any test that Uber may offer, and am willing to cooperate with any testing that needs to be done. I really, really want to enjoy this game again. Right now I just cant play without a extreme amount of frustration. Thank you for any information, testing, or thoughts you may have towards resolving this issue. A frustrated gamer /in before "Buy it on PC"
Holy wow that was a big wall of text. All I can say is I play on DSL and have little to no lag. I really do hope you can get all of this sorted out. Although I say I have no lag there have been plenty of reports of players experiencing this kind of lag. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
First of all, there was a ton of lag when the game came out. Your connection isn't the only factor when accounting for lag. You're connecting to another player. If their connection sucks, you're going to have bad lag. If your connection is as good as you say, there's a technique for making sure you're the host. When you hit A to search, cancel after about a second. Do this over and over until it says you're connecting instead of searching. This will put you in your own room. You won't have to worry about host migration or lag and you're doing a service to the community by hosting a lag free game.
where are you from? if you are in australia playing at an odd hour when a lot of americans are playing, it will inevitably put you into american lobbies where there will be a considderable ammount of lag.
Yeah "Pulling Host" is a great way to rid of any lag. Some players think pulling host is bad while others will give you a pat on the back for doing so. You seem to be just a casual player looking to pass some free time so pulling host may be a great idea for you. To simplify what Dagoth you search and cancel looking for a match until you can't cancel anymore. Very rarely there will be a time where it joins a game fast enough to not cancel. Usually this happens when the game you would have connected to drop host and so it pulls you in.
Probably because Less Players=More Distance Between Players=More Lag. No wait, looks like these fine men already fixed your problem. Carry on.
Ever since the Spunky Cola DLC/Update came out this game has been suffering from poor frame rate and blance issues.
