So, what's the deal with people playing before the game begins? I've seen this a couple times. The match hasn't begun yet and somebody is already in the game.

    That's usually the host.

    Yeah, I know.

What I'm asking is how, and is it legit?

Host doesn't just start ten seconds before everyone else.

Incorrect. Joining a game just as it's starting you'll have to wait for the intro while people who were waiting in lobby will start a few seconds before you.

    Is that a joke?

"Hey, how come that host gets to start the game ten seconds before everyone else?"

"Joining a game just as it's starting you'll have to wait for the intro while people who were waiting in the lobby will start a few seconds before you."

"That doesn't make any sense. For him to start before everyone, they'd all have to join late. If that's the case, how did it start at all?"

You should pay attention to the question before you answer it.

Now, once again, how does it happen?

You're making up quotes I didn't even respond to. The host DOES NOT start before anybody else. The only implication of anything referring to the host in my post was to DeadStretch's post saying he was incorrect about his response saying the host starts the game before everybody else. All I was saying is that if you join a game as it's starting you will be delayed a few seconds waiting for a delayed intro screen. Everybody in the game will have started simultaneously because they were already waiting in lobby. This only happens when you join a game before the countdown has ended.

Please approach me in a more polite manner :)

Um no, it's the host. I've been "waiting in the lobby" when a match started and I still seen a player run out of the enemy spawn. As host I have also started before anyone else but I buy a few skills first but if I were to just leave the spawn they will see it.

How does it happen? It's the host's connection so of course they will be faster on it. This is pretty common in p2p games.

Does this happen after you've been sitting in a lobby, or after you just joined a game?

Incorrect. Everybody starts at the same time, even when i'm host people still beat me out of spawn. If he's not referencing to when you join a game as it's starting and everybody is running around while you're stuck at intro then I don't know what he's talking about. But, for some reason this game gives me host 25% of the time i go into matchmaking and i've played long enough to know I don't get out of the spawn faster than anybody else.

There is no such thing as hosts running out 10 seconds earlier then everybody in spawn. I've never seen it nor have I been able to do it. Not even 1 second because as soon as my game starts I can see people picking their skills at the same time as me.

When a host has been migrated, several times I've been able to bypass the countdown and run around the area with no bots in play. I'm able to kill people just standing around waiting for the timer and pretty much play the game on my own for a few seconds.

    Don't know how this happens.

This is true. Happened to me the other day. I joined a game just as it was starting and had to sit through the intro even though others had started.

When i join a game right as it's starting, everyone else's intro fly-around will end while mine is just beginning. Then I see them all head out of spawn while I'm still waiting.

I've never seen it happen when I started from the lobby.

Then that's the problem. You entered a game right after it started, so the intro clip goes full time while everyone else already finished watching it. You actually started late.

My experience with this has been actually leaving the spawn before the timer starts. As in, As I leave the spawn, the green timer will still be counting down, and the game timer will not begin for a few seconds after I exit the spawn. Yes, this is possible; no, it has nothing to do with joining the game late. Don't assume things that were never told to you if you were going to post. That goes for everyone who assumed the OP was talking about joining the game late.

Was there anything else that was distinctive when this happened? I mean, are there anymore details that you want to point out before we try to figure out what's wrong?

Not particularly. Although I don't believe it has ever happened to me as host. It's just a random occurrence.

I've seen this too multiple times, although it's never happened to me. I've always assumed it's the new host that gets put back in the game on accident.

It must be a relatively rare occurance, because I don't think I've ever seen this happen.
