Hi, how does Microsoft plans to earn money with their PlayFab aquiring? Just wondering, because of our Planetary Annihilation massive ressource usages,.... I mean, why should the pay?
It's probably less about making an immediate profit and more about having a product to compete with Amazon Web Service's Gamelift. As far as I can tell it doesn't look like Azure had a game specific product until they acquired Playfab.
It's mostly this. It's about scaling Azure further and gaining new assets. Playfab integration into Azure is good for Microsoft, even if Playfab doesn't make Microsoft much money itself. Kinda like how YouTube can afford to not make significant profits off of YouTube, as long as it leverages it to push their other products.
