I have had the game for a while now, Its is really fun, but sometimes it can lag. I am posting my Dxdiag to see if anyone can help.

On a side note, is there a 360 video for the Aeson commander?

Your dxdiag looks good. Although the drivers for your Intel are rather out of date, but I think you said you ran at 30fps, right? When the game lags again, can you check all of the fps measurements using <Ctrl>+P? Pressing that keycombo repeatedly will show you the speeds for your client, the sim and the server. What are those values when you are lagging?

due to the drivers being customized by Toshiba, Intel driver updates won't work. also 2 Toshiba updates did not work either for some reason. For FPS, the lowest its been at is like 8.5. I'll post again with the other info in a bit.

    these are estimates
Client: 35 fps and 28 msec

Server: 1 fps and 1 sec

    sim: 1.$fps and 0 usec

tell me if you need anything else

Also, the highest is actually around 40 to 50

Are you sure the sim is not 10fps?

You don't need to bother updating your drivers by the way. If it works, it works. The fps for your client is pretty good, so that's not the problem. I suspect it may be your internet connection (assuming you meant 10fps for sim). As a test, could you go to [SETTINGS] -> [SERVER] and set the local server to "on". Then play an AI Skirmish game. Does the game still lag? Then set the local server to "off". Does the game lag then?

    Use this guide:

And make sure you download the right drivers, alias the HD4000 ones from the intel site ;)

This guide worked for updating the toshiba drivers on my gf's laptop ;)

Ok, thanks Ill try the local thing, then look into the Toshiba thing later.

When I do the game, should I be logged in or not?

in settings local is set to Auto. what does that mean?

Auto means that it will automatically use the local server if you have a quad core processor and 8GB or more (and 64-bit windows).

You should be logged on when the local server is off. If it's on, then it doesn't matter.

Tried with the server off, not much of a difference. Though, today there were some small freezes, like 2 second ones. Yes the sim is actually 10. When I checked it the first time, only the .$1 thing came up, then I tried today and all the info popped up. Not sure whats happening, could it be the hot fixes? I just don't want to turn of the HDR, without it things are to bright, and I want to try and keep the resolution at 100%.

And what happens with the server forced to "on" and playing AI Skirmish? I'm asking because the fps values you posted are all normal and do not indicate lag. That leaves me wondering if it could be your internet connection that is making things lag. What exactly is the lag you see? Units jumping from one place to another or navigating the camera itself is slow?

The hotfixes just fix tiny stuff and crashes, so probably no optimizations.

The lag is like, the game gets a little choppy, yesterday the FPS hit 14, which was low.

I can't believe this has not been suggested yet - have you tried going into Settings -> Graphics/Video, and lowering everything? Everything.. Just as a test. See what your client fps is like then. And make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. It sounds like you're not sure how, so feel free to ask for help. Best method is to go to Toshiba's website (region specific) and search for your laptop's model number "Satellite C55-A". Then select your OS and download drivers, and install them. Video is most important for games, and then the sound driver.

Be sure to ask if you need help.
