It is my belief that the pineapple makes the pizza too sweet. Pizza usually tends to be a salty dish, and the intense taste of the pineapple dominates the pizza’s flavor. Unless it is a dessert pizza, I would not put pineapples on my pizza.
There is a logical answer to this. Pizza is derived from greek culture, and "hellenistic" is the blend of greek and oriental (pacific islander) culture. Ergo, Pineapple Pizza is "hellenistic". You're welcome.
The pineapple is actually native to Southern Brasil and Paraguay, and Hellenistic usually refers to the period of Greek history after the death of Alexander the Great when Greek culture flourished and spread. And the pizza is an Italian dish, though the familiar tomato sauce was not part of the original recipe, as the pizza predates the Colombian Exchange. The pineapple pizza could better be described as “Mestizo” which is a classification from the Spanish casta system in South America. The “Mestizo” class referred to those of mixed European and Native descent.
