    What do people/Uber think?

I love the new art and wish it'd hang around instead of shrinking away into nothing.

Unfortunately not possible as a mod

I'm for it, but it's not something we'll do ourselves. Too many possible bugs with other planets intersecting through the debris.

Shouldn't be hard to mod though, just increase the lifespan of the particles (and fix any of the particle lifetime curves).

I tried making a mod before with effect lifetimes for the planet explosions, and it seems like it's "capped" or limited.

So the emitters just disappear after a certain time, and it's not a soft disappearance; they cut out quickly.

It's almost as if the effects are bound to an "event" which has a limited lifetime.

Then Uber needs to make some changes so mod can do that.

Awesome. I hope this gets modded, could look cool. I understand your concerns though.

Must say I'm really impressed with Uber's feedback/presence on the forums following release.

Hmm, right, there's a 15 second limit right now. I was going to fix that for this very reason, then we didn't need it so I didn't. :)

Or maybe have some burned out asteroid as debris (maybe even with you being able to walk on it?). That was how you could 'harvest' planets in Sins of a Solar Empire.

    !
    I just had an idea.
What if there's a new Titan that, with a substantially large amount of time and energy...
    Can reclaim the destroyed planet.

EDIT: Or maybe even make that a secondary feature of the annihilazer.
OH MY GOD AND MAYBE MAKE THAT HOW IT CHARGES UP.

Wait, couldn't you just leave it in the orbit is was originally in? Then it wouldn't collide, right?

    In decent systems, at least.

Close orbits/Moving orbits like Hallied objects.

Like remember when you hallied yourself by accident and decapitated your commander? Kinda like that, but with colliding a planet that's already been exploded.

    Just make it non-collidable, right?

    Yeah, that's what they're suggesting.

Wouldnt it be awesome if destroying one planet meant spattering all the other planets with debris?

How about transforming planetary collision debris into asteroind belt, if colliding objects are big enough? And if not, into space dust belt. which can't spawn asteroids?
