Team balance has always been an issue with MNC, at least for the 360 version. I've never played it for PC. What I'm starting to notice now is that if both teams appear to be even in terms of level and prestige, often, all of the prestiged people will quite from one team. From your experience, is this a coincidence confined to the games I've been in lately, or are people really only sticking around in games where they can roll over new(er) players? I of course also notice prestiged players quitting when they get put on a team of low levels against 3 or so prestiged players, but that's at least understandable if not condonable.
It's so hard to know why anyone else is leaving a match that it's tough to say it's due to balanced teams. I'm with you though, and there have def been times it seems uncanny; as soon as there's competition the robots bounce. I pretty much gave up assuming why people quit after playing a match with ninja wallace- he had to go, so he found someone to kill him before he left, faking a RQ. It cracked me up and now I use the same trick.
Bot levels don't mean a thing. They just log how long you have played the game. I team up with unprestiged players all the time. Foolamancer is one of my best friends, and he is only around lvl 90 at the moment. He and I can carry a team of randoms repeatedly against a few bot level players. It is really stupid though when people quit from evenly matched teams of randoms though.
People that really leave a lobby because some even competition just came in will probably never get better at the game. But like AARPS said, it's usually not easy to tell why someone left.
They might be quitting because they're sick of Ammo Mule every other map & no-one voting against it, or maybe got an invite to another game. Both of which I do frequently.
This. And as said before, the bots mean nothing. Me, Jay and Aaron play together frequently (Nothing on the other Mediocres, it's mostly a timezone thing) and we can usually hold a team at bay, even when my little sis wants to play with me (Known by Jay as 'the only noob assassin we ever want on our team).
I leave matches because I have other things to do. I'll almost always leave before the split tho. The bots dont necessarily mean "nothing". I dont really pay attention to bots under gremlins. Above that they tell you someone is either experienced or boosters. They'll either put up a fight or ragequit. I wish I could toggle my bot off. I hate entering a lobby, then watching a handful of people leave. Maybe they wait for the split to see if they're playing against a party.
Same here - it's usually people I've recently raped but frequently it's people I've never played. Just 'cos I'm a Gapshot doesn't make me good - it just means I play alot.
This is not completely true. You earn xp based on skill or how much you earn in a match if someone is a jackbot they don't have to spend every hour of their day playing to get that rank or level. If they are good enough they will get enough Xp each match to play normally and not obsessively to still get a jackbot. You see what I am saying? (^ This is not saying there aren't people who do nothing but play this game to get their level just saying not everyone does that someone people have skill...^)
I understand what wazupwiop is getting at. When I come across good players, I remeber them for what they did in-game, not because of their bot level. I already know who most of the high level players are anyway. Right now im a gapshot. Sometimes I dont feel like playing up to a "gapshot" level. Sometimes I just want to f off or work on hacking enemy turrets or airstrike practice. I still play to win, but im not trying to spawn trap or be a douche. Most non-boosted high-level players have the potential to go off and dominate in pubs. Sometimes they arent necessarily bringing their a-game.
I really only quit if I end up on a team of people who cant get kills, which leads to me being spawn trapped. It seems to happen a lot when some noob gets a guest on the same screen. I have been trying to collect bacon, so I like games to go to overtime. I usually dont have trouble against higher level players. Like it has been said, it just shows how long you have played, not your skill level necessarily. I understand the quitting problem though. I really get annoyed when games end early because people leave. Especially when it ends in the middle of a big kill-streak. I wish Uber could implement some sort of penalty for leaving a game midway through.
I understand what you are saying and I too sometimes don't work up to my potental in the game unless i am playing against mega try hards that is when I play my hardest to win. but the game isn't meant to be serious all the time and I wish some people would learn this and chill out a little.^^
Very well said - fun is the name of the game. I love nothing more than playing 'stars n slaps' assassin or go out of my way just to get melee kills hopefully not at the expense of the win but what the hell - it's only a game.
