How's this comparing to the latest patches of D3? I haven't been playing in a while, but it's a gameplay mechanic I tend to go back and fiend on at least once a year, and PoE looks pretty damn good.
Personally, I feel that PoE is miles better than D3. I also feel that miles are an appropriate measurement for betterness.
I couldn't get into it for an extended period, but that's hardly unexpected since I'm generally not into those kinds of games.
I am currently checking out low level PvP (level 28), it seems to be great fun whenever you get real PvP enemies and not some curious level 17 dude that you one-shot.
Gotta love these patch-day uniques. Also finding uniques during races is always appreciated (got Ondar's Clasp in the last 90 minute solo, totally works with cleave lol) http://www.twitch.tv/grmbr/c/2221228 for some hilarious death.
I wish this game held my attention longer. I think I got so burned out by the repetition of D3 that I wrote this type of game off.
Yeah, that was probably it for me. I don't *hate* them, but I can only play them with a specific group of people. Much like Blitz.
Just had to share this as I am quite stoked right now, FINALLY got the last piece I needed to complete my mara! DAT HP
a lot say it's what diablo 3 should have been. if you are a fan of diablo 2's deep stat system it's worth checking out. i played in closed beta and open beta and ultimately it wasn't for me. that isn't a knock against the game though, i just don't have the time to be competitive. but if you are interested it's a lot of fun to play it through once and the community-dev relationship is among the best i've seen. i still occasionally visit the forums.
@Garat: PoE is great fun but it has some issues that need to be fixed. Netcode and trading being the most important ones imo. You need to be prepared for a challenge if you want to play PoE. Building a successful character on your own requires time and experience.
Spent the weekend checking out D3 1.0.8 and PoE 0.10.8, so here's a little rundown Things D3 does better than PoE: - trading - combat feels more dynamic - providing content and endgame - QA - instances don't expire as single-player, can pause any time - netcode is solid Things PoE does better than D3: - supports the pants-less cause - stash tabs - has races Things that are about equal: - itemisation - build variety If all you wanna do is scratch the old ARPG itch then I'd recommend D3 over PoE. PoE has too many little issues that add up, the beta excuse doesn't quite cover it. It has great potential though, which doesn't say jackshit in this kickstarter-esque industry.
http://i.imgur.com/lphL4AF.jpg get on this level, only took like 12.5 hours because of dumb running around.
Onslaught or bust. I did the full clear challenge in anarchy while looking for rogue exiles, found exactly zero after fully clearing all 60 areas -- called it there and went back to man-mode.
