I was digging around in one of my other favourite RTS games, namely TA:Kingdoms and noticed that it not only had an area attack function (which I assumed to be something hopefully planned later, much like paint attack for SupCom 2), but it also had an area transport function; it being that you selected a transport, clicked load, held shift and dragged a selection box across the units to be picked up. I know that in SupCom you could set up a ferry route, or you could select the units and right click them into the transport, but I think it would be nice to have the option to have multiple transports selected and issue an area transport command to pick up all the units in a user made selection box. Thoughts?
surely already planned. In sup com you could tell a single transport to ferry. then right-click box-selected units and factories onto the ferry marker. then tell other transports to assist the first and add others transports by right clicking any transport on ferry duty and also add units or factories to the ferry at any time. and also modify the ferry. your idea was already in supcom
I know the ferry option ( I mentioned it in the OP), I just think it would make a nice option for players who don't want to ferry units across, i.e. A one off transport. To do so in supcom, you would have to either do a ferry, or select all the units and shift right click onto all of the transports. With a paint transport, you could have multiple transports selected, shift que a paint transport (load) and then shift move and then unload, all from having one unit selected instead of having to deselect and click on the units and order them to move. This wasn't in supcom was it ? I just think it would be nice to compliment planned systems.
ya sure I doubt they wouldn't do it. to me assisting already ferrying transports is just as good or better because it's 100% modular
