Hey all - Keep an eye on this, as I'll be updating it with more information, but we wanted to give you as much time to get started if you're interested. What we're doing: At PAX, we'll have our trailers for our games playing, but also we plan to intersperse community videos from the PA alpha. What we're looking for: Videos, no longer than 5 minutes, that show off your favorite videos so far from the Alpha testing period. We'll have a title page we'll providing shortly that folks can use. What you're providing: Full permission to use your video in our booth to show off the game, and in return, having your online ID and channel displayed to the audience at PAX. Technical Details: Time: 5 minutes or less total edited play time (10 seconds to display the title screen, for a total possible running time of 00:04:50.00) Resolution: 720p minimum, 1080p maximum Format: .mkv / .m4v preferred (use handbrake.fr to compress if you don't have a tool you prefer to use - it's free, fast and does a great job) Encoding: h.264 Audio: MP3/AAC - Music preferred, as actual voice will be impossible to hear at PAX When you're ready to upload, send me a PM and I'll let you know the best way to get the files to us. Any submissions that will be considered must be to us by Thursday of next week (August 29th). General clarifications, please post in this thread. Detailed questions or anything that may require more detailed or personal information, please PM me. Don't post your home address in the forums. ;-) Title Screen must be included and played for 10 seconds to be considered for inclusion. Link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/1622vq
For the splash screen, should it include just ID's or full links? Also can we add music to the splash screen during those 10 seconds?
Music during the splash screen is fine. I just don't recommend talking, because.. it's PAX.. chances of hearing either are pretty low.
You can either use our music, or royalty free. If you actually have rights to air music other than that, you just need to let us know.. but in general.. we've already packaged a bunch of music in. To be clear - chances of people hearing anything, music or otherwise, is almost nil. PAX is loud. Our booth will have a lot of noise around it. We still need to be able to talk to people. You need to have the rights to play the music you use, and for the purposes of this, that means you can also use any PA music.
