Hi guys, My first post so I have plenty stufs to say. First, I am on Linux- Ubuntu 64b- under Gnome interface- Intel® Xeon(R) CPU W3530 @ 2.80GHz × 4 - Quadro 4000/PCIe/SSE2 - Memory 23.5 Gio First as before for the alpha the "QUICK MATCH" does not work. The method I used is to create a lobby then leave it to go back to the server list.. which create a lot of empty lobby.. With this beta, I cannot launch the game by steam, I have to go in the file folder... Loading the game is very very long now with this beta.. About the server interface, please add the kind/type of system, and maybe a chat room.. About the game itself, I think introducing some vehicule radar/counter-radar (to blur ennemy radar) would bring a interesting dimension to the game. Those vehicules would be of course expensive and week. I like the beta version but spatial stuff are sometimes very dificult to catch... another color or special camera position could help a lot. I lost my other ideas, so I gone do a game and complete this conversation..
This happen because of this problem: FS#2100 You can bypass it using STEAM_RUNTIME=0, then game won't use old libstdc++. This is temporary problems. There tons of keys going to public and servers are overloaded, everybody got crashes and so. Just wait before everything will be a bit more stable.
Thank you for those answers. Well I say everything I have in mind, maybe among them there are some good ideas.. - could we imagine a mode "explore" with all the other mode (protect, assist...) This mode could generate a random route... and avoid to clic 100 times the beginning of all game to scout... - in the patrol mode, could you include the assistance for nuke /anti nuke / spatial stuff ?? - I didnt check that in the beta, but before the first time I selected on a antinuked, cursor was no more effectiv... I had to restart game.. and then I could select for real my anti nuked and create missiles.. Did you see this bug? Or is it just me?? all for tonight...
This is still true for me with the 2nd Beta version, 54412. Neither of the work arounds work for me also. Perhaps the next version.
We are currently focused on stability fixes (main for the servers) and the new features. Platform specific problems probably won't be addressed for a little while.
But what about libstdc++ version? FS#2100 Latest builds break game for most Linux Steam users by compiling game with newer ABI. Can you please set high priority for this problem?
I can give you advice: Set few spy planes in line with big gaps between them. Toggle "keep position mode"... Oh I want to believe you get what I mean. send them to long distance, they will keep gaps and you'll able to scout large territory just with few clicks. This sounds like Coherent UI crash. For me it's not happen often, it's pretty stable on open source drivers. I have some question to you: I wonder did game able to use multiple CPU for planet generation process?
