    To Uber engineering staff:

I'm working with PA Stats data dumps to generate some interesting analytics about the way people play (and win at!) Planetary Annihilation. Crucially, one of my research goals is to infer the decisive battles and dominant strategies in games and track how they change from patch to patch.

Unfortunately, it appears that PA itself is lacking some instrumentation that would make my job easier- namely, Commander cause of death, nuclear missile construction/launch, and planet-smashing events.

Would it be possible to patch those data events into a future version of the client? I think it'd be an awesome data science opportunity and I'd love to see what I can make of the matches that people play. Thanks (also hi Chris Hargrove- come hang out in #planetaryannihilation more often).

Actually I think there maybe a warning about moving/smashing planets, is there not? I am so rarely smashing planets that I never even considered it. :S

Can anybody who smashes planets more than I do share light on it?

There's a warning when a planet comes very close, and it's fairly obvious due to the new planet rails when a planet is coming in, however there is no form of forewarning until the planet comes into the atmosphere

Well that warning might be captureable.

Check the html for the system view. It says 'ACTIVITY' on a planet when it is launched (IIRC)
