PA Launcher has been crashing some way though updates for me for over a month.

    I have:
    * Updated my vid card drivers (when the issue first occurred)
    * Downloaded and installed a new copy of the PA Launcher
    * Deleted downloaded and installed game data

The launcher usually fails at package 140 out of 145.

Running on Windows 8.1 using NVidia graphics.

    Any ideas.

    Hello,

Please post your Dxdiag and your latest UberLauncherLog file so that I can further analyze the problem.

Where did you install the game? (C: Drive or secondary drive?)

I have attached my Direct X diagnostic log.

I am not sure about the PA Log though. Where is it. All I could find was the Coherent_UI.log which was too large to upload.

Try installing the game on the main C:\ Drive. A user fixed the same issue with this method.

The Uber Launcher seems to have problems with secondary installation directories.

I recently upgraded my pc and the update crashes at 629MB / 1,09GB (138 out of 145 packages downloaded)

I tried it several times as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the launcher.

It may be linked to an other compatibility bug. The launcher window in invisible without compatibility settings. Half invisible with Windows XP (Service Pack 2), fully visible with Windows XP (Service Pack 3).

Where can I find the UberLauncherLog file?

I have the same W7 version as before.
    Radeon HD 4870 => Radeon R9 290
    SSD Crucial MX100 512GB

I upgraded and reinstalled my computer all by myself so I may have forgotten to install something.

    Having the same issue...
'UberLauncher.exe stopped working' at around 800mb/1.09gb (140/145 updates)

Also installer maxes out video card right away, which makes no sense...

Invisible launcher window? Your computer is missing the DirectX files needed to show the launcher. Also, you need to have the Visual C++ 2012 packages and .NET Framework 4.5, if you haven't installed them already.

    DirectX (June 2010): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

    Visual C++ 2012: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679

    .NET Framework 4.5: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653

The Uber Launcher Log file can be found at C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\UberLauncher\UberLauncherLog.txt

You will need to enable "Show hidden files and folders" to see AppData.

Other than that, your drivers are fully updated, so no problems with outdated drivers.

@quadrupal: Your AMD card could use a driver update:

    Code:
Card name: AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series
    Driver Version: 13.251.0.0
    Driver Date/Size: 12/6/2013 18:01:52, 1318552 bytes
Please download and install the latest beta drivers from the AMD website:
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows 7 - 64#amd-catalyst-packages

Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the beta drivers.

@superouman and @quadrupal: Also, where did you install the game? (C: Drive or secondary drive?) If you haven't updated DirectX, Visual C++, and/or .NET Framework, please download from the links at the top of my post.

I have the latest Visual C++, .NET Framework, and DirectX.
I installed the latest stable video driver and it still crashes.
Are you saying you actually require beta drivers?

Actually, the beta drivers are just over a week old. The stable drivers are four months old at the least. Therefore, I recommend the beta drivers as they may promote better stability and performance.

A user reported that he had much better performance in his game after upgrading to the beta drivers.

Also, did you install the Uber Launcher in Drive C: or a secondary drive?

The window is fine now but the update still fails at the same moment.

Right. It was on a different drive before.
I uninstalled and re-installed on the system drive.
It fails at about the same point.

So i tried again and it didn't work. The second time i pressed "Play" to make the update and it worked. I don't see any reason there would be a difference between these two buttons but okay, i take the update.

I finally have metal spot icons! :TearsOfJoy:

@superouman: Glad you got your error solved.

@quadrupal: By system drive, do you mean the C: Drive?

    Yes, C drive.
Though I just tried clicking 'play' instead of 'verify', and it worked lol.

Another problem solved. It seems that when you press "play" to update the game via the Uber Launcher, no errors occur.

    Hi it is not solved.

I have the same problem, and a friend of mine also, my updater stops also at the 140ths package...

Is there already a real solution for this?

I only posted a workaround in the post above yours.

Also, I was informed that the launcher issues are being worked on, but it may be some time before an update comes.

P.S. Please post your Dxdiag if you are a Windows user.

Also having this problem, makes no difference if I press play instead of verify.

    Your Intel drivers are outdated:
    Code:
Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
    Driver Version: 9.18.10.3165
    Driver Date/Size: 5/7/2013 17:22:46, 8632320 bytes
I know that the Uber Launcher errors are not a result of out-of-date drivers, but it is best that you update them anyway, as the game will not play properly on drivers that are more than a year old. Here are some further questions below:

    - Did you install the game on Drive C: or a secondary drive?
EDIT: Forgot that your only drive is Drive C:

    - Do you have any antiviruses or firewalls?

    - Is your DirectX up-to-date? Visual C++? .NET Framework?

    - Is your C: Drive an SSD or a regular mechanical drive?
EDIT: Just found out that you have an SSD.
