    I've started seeing this issue since the latest update. The latest crash was 27 minutes into a 4 system 4 commander galactic war fight. I had built up my planet and was working on another, and was invading via orbital a third. I switched to the sysem view to see where my orbital fighters and orbital constructors were, it displayed for a second or so and then everything froze. This wasn't a disconnection from the local server, rather a crash.

    In event viewer there are two application crashes:
    First crash:

    </Event>

    The second crash looks to be when the game crashed after viewing the system plane.

    I've attached DxDiag and the two log files. I'm running the latest non-beta ati drivers available for my card. Happy to help with any other required information.

    Got another crash, this time connection to server lost. In this case I was running on an uber server. I had set 4 tech 2 constructors to build tech 1 metal on every available point on the planet, and had just selected another bunch (but had not given any commands) in anticipation of building tech 2 metal on the planet when the connection dropped (see attached screenshot). Client logs are included
