I've installed latest drivers, done clean installations, deleted local content and reinstalled via steam several times to no change in status. I'm sincerely confused since the game was working fine on Friday, but started CTDing yesterday afternoon and has continued since. Also, alpha level backer here: any chance I can convert back from steam to regular launcher oriented client?
You have tons of mods installed. Disable them all and try again. You can't convert key back, but if you at least play though Steam once (or link your accounts on here) you should be able to use non-Steam launcher as well.
Yeah I've been having the same issue. Tried everything, the only thing that works is using the regular PA launcher. Got it from here. store.uberent.com/Download/Install?titleId=4
Problem is that a while back, I was having insane issues with the launcher itself. It wouldn't download the game at all, and/or it would try but then download speed would keep dropping until it dropped down to 0.5 bytes/second. Leading to ETA for game completion in time upwards of 3000 hours. This happened for days, and in my haste to play the game; I converted over to Steam. Now I have new problems. Sucks man, wish I could go back to the original system.
You can use the launcher again by redownloading it and logging in with your UberNet credentials. https://store.uberent.com/Download/Install?titleId=4
Correction: link works, but is pointless; because I don't have the original game key. I converted mine to steam because of prior launcher issues. Unless an uber employee can help me change back to the original launcher, I'm pretty much fucked. I just installed the new nvidia drivers that came out today, wiped all content of the game and reinstalled on steam. Instant CTD. Ugh.
You don't need the original key to make it work. Login to the launcher with your same username and password that you use for steam. (UberNet credentials) - http://support.uberent.com/kb/faq.php?id=34
https://store.uberent.com/download/PA_Setup.exe -> Windows launcher edit: I suggest you contact support because you should be able to access that page. http://support.uberent.com/open.php
I've got a ticket open with them at the moment, so I'll mention that; thanks for your help. I'll try it via the regular launcher. Haha...I guess once you convert to steam, they kick you out or something...
Man...this is pretty bad. So I went ahead and linked the accounts for steam and uber, downloaded the launcher; installed the game via that. Disabled all mods from the mod manager. Restarted my machine, and ran the game. Lo' and behold: That's literally all I get. Going into event viewer for the application tells me that its a result of the OGL32.dll. Alas, I'm running the drivers that came out today for my nvidia gtx 780.
Can you try to run 32-bit executable? E.g "bin_x86/PA.exe" in directory where non-Steam version installed. If it's crash please upload log and crash dump.
It crashes exactly to that screen with x86, x64, and normal PA.exe in the main directory. This also happens identically with the steam install. Here is the crash log. I don't have a dump file since the game crashes before it can even load anything.
You said you disabled all mods, but that doesn't looks like that: Code: [19:04:10.000] INFO Loading mod : bAnchorButtons [19:04:10.000] INFO Loading mod : blackscreenfix [19:04:10.000] INFO Loading mod : cDraggablePip [19:04:10.000] INFO Loading mod : cEnhancedSystemPreview ... [19:04:10.000] INFO Loading mod : rPAMM [19:04:10.000] INFO Loading mod : rSettingsManager [19:04:10.000] INFO Loading mod : SpacedOutDefenceTowers [19:04:10.000] INFO Loading mod : teamBuildColor Can you get crash log amd dump of 32-bit executable without any mods?
Oh man, finally. x64 & x86 execs work with the game, Holy ****, you're a savior. I guess it really was the mods, which despite being deleted before I restarted last, still showed up; which is very odd. In any case, this resolves my issue and I'm very grateful!
