Similar thread launched a few days ago so attached dxdiag. No problems found for drivers.

Will not launch via steam, will only launch if open file location & opened in bind_x86 or x64. Validation of files does not change anything.

System design: Will not save system at all. Have tried multiple attempts.

That's really odd! I don't know much, but here is something to try before the real cavalry shows up xD
Have you tried turning off the steam overlay for PA?

Sounds like it could be a permission problem. If you change settings in PA, are those stored at all?
Can you can try running Steam as administrator and see if that helps? (To do so, you should be able to right-click on Steam and select "Run as administrator".)

Setting to run as administrator had no effect with launching PA.

Well, fixed launch problem with steam. Happened to be a problem in "Set launch options", which is odd as it used to support the set launch options.

System Design on the other hand though, is still not working. Even after fixing PA startup with steam. Anyone have any options on this?

To save systems, you need at least one planet to be set as a starting planet. Otherwise you cannot save.

Assuming you already do that, then in your list of systems, do you happen to have one that just a little block symbol instead of a name? In any case, you might want to start with a clean config. To do so, go to "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\" (Just past that in the explorer address bar). There should be a directory called "Planetary Annihilation" there. Rename that to "Planetary Annihilation.old" (while PA is closed). If you then start PA again, can you save systems then?

Note that this last method means that you will lose any Galactic Wars, Settings, Save games, mods, etcetera. If it didn't work, you can delete the newly created "Planetary Annihilation" directory and rename the old one back.

Thanks for that, it works just fine now. Though i looked at the config file and did not happen to see anything wrong with it. Oddly enough.

Yeah, it's weird. It seems to happen every now and then.
