I assume there will be some sort of overtime in Crossfire mode when there is a tie at the end of regulation. Can we get any details on such extended play? Can the game end in a draw? Another somewhat related question, how do you guys plan to combat boosting in Crossfire when you have both teams solely defending their money ball and letting the other team continue to destroy their bots?
Soccer? Jon Stewart said last night that if USA wins the World Cup everyone should call it soccer. That would rock! There is a 2 minute OT after the 15 minutes of regulation. OT gets CRAZY!
How crazy does it get? Is there some sort of Sudden Death mode where once you're dead, you're dead? No re-spawning?
You know, it's interesting, we tried some different stuff early on in that vain. Spawn times took longer, money balls slowly ticked down but the issue there was that people just defended and OT games came down to a war of attrition. So, we decided to go the other way with it. It's crazy time.
YES! Well, my guess is that every player has infinite Juice, bots spawn by the second or all bots are replaced by Jackbots.
My guess is a "hardcore mode" -- players take more damage, and the shield disappears from the moneyballs.
As there is only two minutes left in the game I bet there will be loads of bots, less shields for the money ball, quicker respawns,an annihilator and every time you kill a bot or a pro there you will get more money because if there is no winner I think it comes down to who earned the most money overall (the money you spent on skills and turrets is also accounted for)
i could tell you guys what i experienced at PAX, but its possible that its changed since then and wouldn't want to give possible wrong information, but if you guys want ill still spill it and its fun to watch you beg ^_^
PAX was a little broken and that was... um.... my fault. There's a lot of subtlety that also happens in OT which isn't obvious at first.
As Scathis said, there is more subtle stuff. But as for obvious i remember two things: 1) Everyone's juice bar is automatically filled (just filled not used). 2) The shield on the money ball is disabled (which means it is open to being attacked by players)
That part has been cut. It made the end game a hide-and-seek match until OT so that people would be alive for the start of OT. We've made changes that make it crazy but don't just give you full juice.
heh that's why I was afraid to say anything, o well at least i gave a warning. Is the way the money ball functioned remaining the same? I felt some ups and downs with that and can understand reasoning behind keeping or changing it.
