After playing the alpha I've noticed that it's incredibly easy to get disoriented when moving the camera. Maybe a nearly transparent blue beam of light could emanate from the north pole and a red beam from the south pole. A light which is the primary colour of a particular commander could emanate from visible commanders on the planet. It would make orienting yourself much easier although it could look visually unappealing. Thoughts?
Press N. Also, pole markers are planned. Also, people should stop making new threads about the same thing over and over.
N doesn't work properly, ekanaut told me to blame it on the alpha! Every time you press N after zooming the camera turns. The only annoying bugs for me are the camera and pathfinding, other bugs are fun bugs
... i dont realy see the problem, i have no idea why people get disoriented, i dont (why would you need to know were the north pole is or orient myself towards it? Up is a relative term, theres no need to have it fixed)...
It actually is fixed now! Woot Orientation is important if you are an OCD freak. Having the same view of your main base the entire time really helps with management and proper expansion
I agree - so easy to confused as to where things are in a giant sprawling base without keeping the view consistent. I use N all the time. Works 90% of the time, every time.
