I don't know about you but I think a great addition to the game to make planets more valuable and just make the game a little more interesting, would be to add mines and ores. This would allow you to make better items. Like you need to mine uranium to make nukes, and certain spots on the planet have them. And you could do this on other planets. You could get oil to make advanced robots. I just think this would be something that would add a little more strategy to the game.
If my robots run on petrol i'm gonna be very disappointed. Don't particularly like this idea. I don't mind resources that increase the efficiency of collection for metal and energy, such as hydrocarbons or geothermal did for energy.
Don't think of it as civilizations it requires so much petrol every second think of it as like leveling up, once you make a uranium mine, you unlock all the nuclear weapons, once you open a petrol mine you can launch rockets off of the earth. Its not micromanaging its just leveling up. It just makes it slightly more stretegic; basically adding a feeling of seeing your army grow and become more complicated, it lets you see your army evolve basically.
Hey! Let's just make the game more complicated and more economy focused! Yay! Pretty sure that neutrino has said multiple times that the economy will be metal and energy only.
This has already come up a couple times in different threads, and the basic idea, while appropriate in some instances(turn based 4X games in particular) there isn't any reason for it in PA, it would just needlessly complicate something that already been optimized for easy of use and understanding.
