optional classic map view

I think it might be a good idea to give people the possibility to unfold planets to a more classic map view, as I could image some people might find scrolling over spherical maps rather uncomfortable... just thinking out load here...

Has already been discussed ad nauseum in about 6 other threads. Too lazy to look them up for you, use the search function for things like "spherical" and "flat"

I would suggest that you check out the other threads on this if you haven't already as it has been discussed quite heavily.

The idea caused quite a stir as it begs questions regarding the kind of map projection people would think is best (as there are many types with their own kinds of distortion); in addition to this there were also possible balance issues with a disparity in situational awareness between globe and flat maps.

Not to mention dealing with multiple maps (planetoids)
