One of the jump pads on grenade III often doesn't work right

    Maybe it's only when I play gunner...

    The jump pad under spawn, on the right side when facing toward the middle, often just sends me straight up instead of up+sideways onto the walkway like it should. This is when I'm at the enemy base, if that might make a difference.

    Reproduce by approaching from near the edge of the map.

    Affects only the Tank and Gunner.

    Sometimes you can get STUCK bouncing on it repeatedly, as shown in the video

    This may not be just Grenade III Arena.
    On Steel Peel Arena, the jump pad to the left of your spawn that takes you to the upper deck of the center area often (relatively speaking) sends me towards the upper deck, but so far off to the left that I fall out of the ring and die.

    Given that the result is death, it is quite a nuisance.

    I think that happens when someone else gets in the way

    Usually some dirtbag sniper standing near the jump pad

    i do it to bad assassins and snipers who sit in base all game......

    I just also had the one on the left side (grenade III base) do this while I was playing tank

    I've tried it with Tank, Gunner, Assassin, and Support. I could only get it to happen with the Tank and Gunner.


    I found out that sometimes (as shown in the video) you can actually get STUCK bouncing on it over and over. Eventually you can get out, but it takes a while.

    something else that ive seen as well sometimes is getting stuck on a pad like that as well, but only leaving the ground by a few centimeter before falling back down again, causing a bouncespam and earrape as a result.

    When you step on to the jump pad the world collision of your character is hitting the end of the small lip around the edge and stopping your horizontal movement. It is similar to the issue caused by someone standing in the way when taking the jump pad, though that usually results in the player getting bounced out of the world. It's somewhat ironic that the angles work out just such that the player gets bounced upward instead of in some direction.

    The issue of rapidly bouncing repeatedly shouldn't happen as much as it used to, though it may still happen in some rare cases. It also should eventually throw you rather than being able to do it forever.

    There are also issues with multiple players hitting a jump pad causing incorrect launch angles.

    Anyone that has crowded the launch pad in Steel Peel spawn knows about this. One person will get a correct launch angle, the other will go flying into the abyss right next to their intended destination.


    Only, semi-related, but I'd rather post it here than make a new topic. They're really stupid deaths that should not happen, period.

    how to fix the problem of the steel peel fly into emptiness put a HUGE wall there, problem solved? o_O it could also be used for offensive reasons like flying from the far lower wall as assault

    Putting a wall there on Steel Peel would also stop the angle to the ball from the far left walkway wall.

    I actually just had this jumppad issue today, even got stuck bouncing until the other team's sniper got under me to knock me off.

    i know, but the assault could jump with the extra height and fly over to it, other classes wouldn't be able to

    Make it thick, glass at normal height to see through with a solid wall towards the top + burners. /shrug
