Some weeks ago I had issues with Uber Launcher crashing on startup under Windows 7. Recently, I uprgaded to Windows 8.1 (on the same computer I had back then). For almost two weeks, the launcher worked perfectly! However, two days ago, I had some weird lag/crash during the game that forced me to reboot the computer, aaaand... the launcher doesn't work again. What I've found in the crash log, that the issue is related to C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\MSVCR110.dll After searching the boards I've found many posts suggesting to install Visual C++ 2012 packages... I already had both 32 and 64 bit of those installed, but nevertheless, I reinstalled them, the issue still remained. I was able to run the game's executable directly from the game files, up until the latest build, which obviously requires the update from the launcher... which doesn't work. Duh. I reinstalled the launcher several times, with zero success. Some stuff from the error log: Code: EventData UberLauncher.exe 0.0.0.0 535ad6c7 MSVCR110.dll 11.0.51106.1 5098858e c0000005 0000df22 1164 01cf8a1eb0881747 C:\Program Files (x86)\Planetary Annihilation\UberLauncher.exe C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\MSVCR110.dll ef11ea5e-f611-11e3-825c-bc5ff43c42b7 Either I am cursed, or I'm doing something really, really wrong... DxDiag attached:
Current launcher don't like non-English Windows versions: Code: Language: Hungarian (Regional Setting: Hungarian) You can try my one again.
Your alternative launcher solved it for me. Thank you! However, I had to move the files your launcher downloaded to the game folder which the official launcher installed while it worked, because something was missing/broken: (Recycled picture from another post of me) Weird stuff with the localization part, especially because it worked for a week or two, until a random crash occured.
