Apparently I need something called an "Uber ID". I didn't have one and wasn't prompted to create one inside the game (I bought it on Steam). I couldn't find a button for creating one in game either.

Is this an oversight? It's one of those things that's intensely annoying by the way. I just want to play single player (it's greyed out).

Also the tutorial is a series of pictures. This is isn't good.

    Thanks.

It also says "game hasn't been activated on your account".

So... what? Where's the option to do that? Is it pre-release? What's up with this?

That's really odd... If you purchased *and installed* on steam, you shouldn't need an Uber ID (as it's linked to your steam account). If you purchased on Steam, but then got the Uber installer direct from store.uberent.com then that may be why it's asking you for an ID? If your having issues I suggest you contact support@uberent.com and they should be able to help you further.

As for how to play, I recommend having a look through the various tutorial videos on Pa Matches: http://pamatches.com/tutorials/

Some very good information on there. Once you get your game running there are 2 single player modes: The 'Skirmish' mode will give you a custom game against the AI (this is how you play on systems you've made yourself using the system editor for example). You can control everything, play against multiple AI opponents, add some as allies and you have access to full tech. The other one is called 'Galactic War' which is a kind of campaign mode where you have to conquer a whole galaxy (you can choose how big you want it etc). Be aware that in Galactic war, you start with limited tech and you have to scavenge to find more as you explore the galaxy. Also in Galactic War, if you die- then you loose the war and have to start again from the beginning. I would recommend you start out with a few skirmish games on a single moon type planet as this is probably the easiest way to practice before getting into the campaign mode.

There is some issue with in-game automatic account registration and linking to Steam so you need to do that manually.
So link your account to Steam here:
    https://uberent.com/user/LinkSteam

Once you do that it's should work fine when you run it through Steam.
