guys if you've not thought about it yet i think we should be able to play the game in offline mode, i think this is really important to gamers who will play this game, its just a backup just in case the servers go down or need to go down for maintenance. also some people may not be able to connect to the internet so its good to think about gamers without or with limited internet access.
Don't worry, this is absolutely the idea =D There is a Single Player button on the menu screen, it's just that AI hasn't been implemented yet so single player games would be a little boring at present =3
You can't play offline yet because Uber hasn't included the Server Code with the clients yet. You can still play a solo game by creating a game(not the matchmaking options) and readying up to start it before anyone else joins. Mike
As of the moment you cannot play offline to prevent pirating. You can, however, launch a single-player game by Creating a Game and readying up before anyone else joins.
I'm hoping this was an attempt at sarcasm as in "It's good that a simple and commonly present feature in almost every RTS ever, e.g. offline single player, has been thought up by the OP so he can suggest it to a team of talented developers who have made a number of games in the past, many of which contained this feature, but for some reason have not elected to include it in this game's alpha stage". If It's not sarcasm, then there's cause for concern. I like how the OP specified this feature as "for gamers". I think it's extremely important that the devs implement features for the benefit of people playing the game, as opposed to people who are not going to play the game. :roll:
