I know that we are going to have artillery in the game. Experimental units are a maybe so why not have an experimental artillery cannon. Here are a couple of epic examples from history that could be amazing in the game. I just love the artillery. I would really like to see an artillery cannon shoot nukes. Doesn't need to have long range but annihilate everything while moving slowly in range of your opponent’s base.
This does bring up an interesting idea about nukes. I mean, regular nuclear deployment is through cruise missiles. Artillery could plausibly be faster to fire though have a greater amount of inherent inaccuracy. They'd have to be weaker nukes though. Still it's an interesting idea...
In game or in real life? In real life, and I imagine in game, most nuclear weapons are in the form of ICBMs which enter a suborbital (or sometimes even orbital) trajectories to reach their targets.
I did mean in game. Forgive my lack of technical knowledge. When I said cruise missiles I meant they aren't just thrown over to the enemy base, they have guidance and navigation, etc and they do go into orbit as opposed to arty where it's just fired out of a cannon. I misspoke. Sorry about the confusion. Googling cruise missile now...
Think rocket artillery. With a very BIIIG missile. Oh, and with that note: Rocket: Fire and forget. It'll hit roughly where you aim. Missile: Full guidance, also called a robot.
I like this idea, it would be interesting to see how it would work, that's the great thing about a fully supported mod community
Sorry, not sure I understand what you mean. Do you mean rockets instead of traditional shells? In which case, how will it's being a rocket change things?
A cruise missile is preferable to artillery sometimes for their range and extremely high but variable impact. With one missile they can level a city block or blow up a shack. Then I just threw in the difference between rockets and missiles.
