I was just wondering if anyone knew the criteria for not getting a new teammate in crossfire. I can't count the times that I've been in a 5 v 6 game and never gotten a 6th the entire game. It happens all the time when I play solo and it's exceeding difficult to push/win while being a man down the whole game. The only time I remembered what happened was I was in a two man party and my friend's internet messed up right as the match started. Never got a 6th until the next lobby. It usually happens when someone (edit non-host) leaves the game, never from the lobby iirc. I was wondering if it's because they disconnect in a certain way that makes the server think there's still a person there. (shutting down the xbox/dashboarding/plain old disconnecting)
Or 3v6. But I singlehandedly won that one for our team. Mostly because I think the other team's HUDs were broken... no one once tried to stop my shuriken spam on the moneyball once I got it down.
I've actually played a game where my buddy got lagged out of the opposing team, just to end up on my team. It wouldn't be such a big deal if my team already had six players when he came in. The rest of the match played out 7v5. And, yes, I'm 100% positive that my team had 7 players.
What's more annoying to me is that I see this all the time, but so much of the time when I lag out and get booted the spot is IMMEDIATELY filled. Then I have to wait for my friends to get done with the game. It really sucks when we're actually in a good match and I leave them hanging.
I believe you 100%. Something similiar happened to me once, I don't remember exactly how it happened now, but I was on the hotshots team and noticed that my name was nowhere on the summary screen, and our team had 6 players already not including me, and the other team only had 5. I dunno if anyone else noticed it or not... But I was definitely a hotshot, and the summary screen showed a full team and my name wasn't listed on either side.... I made a thread about it here a month or so ago. I wonder how often this actually happens, it could explain why you can't get another teammate sometimes, as the lobby would technically already be full... :?
Same thing happened to me last week. I was no where on the scoreboard, but I was playing on the team. Should have counted my team icons on the map.
I've seen that before as well, but I assumed that it was the scoreboard glitching and maybe showing the name of someone that had quit. I didn't bother to actually count the players on the field.
I forgot to mention in my op that this is when a non-host player leaves. Problems when host leaves are in another thread somewhere. I wouldn't doubt this, as almost every single time parties get split, I'm always the one on the other team. If not me then moto. Never seen a 7th teammate, that's a new one to me. Funny though.
Yes sir, yes it did. It happens ALOT which is why I made this thread. An answer would be nice, maybe people would do it less. (if it is indeed a certain way they disconnect) A fix would be better, or at least acknowledgment that there is a problem and a planned fix.
I've had this occur in literally every Crossfire match I've played Combined with my lack of confidence(and skill it seems) this is just making Crossfire a pain to play at all
I'm going to go ahead and necro this thread. This is still happening to a good portion of my games. It's getting extremely frustrating. One game this was happening to me (6v5) and a kid and his guest left on the other team (4v5) and then they got two new teammates (6v5) and I still never got a 6th until the new lobby. This makes me believe that it is when someone leaves in a certain way that the game thinks there is still someone there taking up that spot so it won't give me a new player. Is it because someone leaves in a certain way? Devs?
