Hello, I have purchased the game and was looking to play with friends, as I went on top the game the server taken 5 mins to load up and as I clicked join the the game In wanted to join nothing happened, the game would not load anything and I was not able to join the lobby, I tried using the webpage server browser but no luck as the servers would not load, do I have to wait longer or is my internet too bad to play, the speed is currently 0.9mb download speed but I can play other online games fine and upgrading is no an option.
When playing online, the game runs on the server rather than your machine (to avoid slow computers bringing the game down for everyone). The downside to this is the game needs more bandwidth than other games. In my experience 6mbit down is what's required, 0.9 isn't going to do it. What you can do though, is play ai skirmish, and galactic war offline. You can also host lan games in offline mode so neither will need as internet connection. That would be your best bet to play with your friends if you can meet up
I must admit I wouldn't have thought that'd be enough to play! good to know it works on limited connections
