My planets never generate with any trees. Is this something I should worry about?

Aye, tree rendering should have been fixed in a previous build.

What framerates do you get with a 9500 GT? I'm curious for a comparison.

But on-topic, I have a 9800 GTX+ and trees render for me. Same-series cards, similar specs and technology. Might be an issue with compatibility, 9 series are getting old.

That is a very old card you got there. Not sure if this has anything to do with tree rendering though.

I am planing on upgrading, but right now it handles pretty smooth. It's strange; I can handle Uber graphics, and handle shadows well, but trees don't render. It's not that trees play a key role, but my planets look slightly bland-ish. Maybe it will be fixed in the next build.

I swear, Nvidia is just a bunch of Chaos Sorcerers casting +1 spells on silicone chips and seeing what happens.

All those +1's add up ^^

Well, seriously, that is practically what they are yes. The GTX 770 is only like a 5% performance boost from the the 670, bit of a joke to be honest.

That card is roughly half the perf of what we're thinking of as our min spec, the Nvidia 9800 GT, so I'm impressed your perf isn't terrible (though the lack of trees are probably a major factor there).

We have some 9800 GT and 9800 GTX cards in the office still in use, and the internal hardware should be nearly identical in terms of feature so it is a bit odd you don't see trees. It's plausible those in the office aren't getting trees either, but many people run with planets in a debut low detail mode that doesn't have them either so they might not if noticed.

As I said, I'll be upgrading my card. Thinking about Nvidia GeForce Gtx 770. If you could recommend a cheaper alternative, I'd be grateful.
