I'm having a issue with seeing my Settings and Galactic War screens. I also can not hit the back buttons in any of those menu's. I have to do the Alt+F4 trick to exit the game....I can start a Skirmish but when going to settings it still won't load up and I will have to again Alt+F4 while in game. I've tried all I could think of with me getting no where. I've upload my DxDiag incase it has something to do with it. I really need some help and hope someone has had this problem and got it working again!!
Do you happen to run any mods? Even in the past? You could try running PA with the --nomods parameter, or use safe mode from PAMM.
I have run mods in the past but after the full release I took them all off, even uninstalls PAMM and PA. Wiped everything away. Still having this issue almost a few weeks after official release! I can reinstall PAMM and try safe mode!
Ah, yeah. Uninstalling PAMM and PA won't actually get rid of your mods. Fun, eh? They hide in the directory "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation" (just copy-paste that in the explorer address bar). There will be a directory there called either "mods" or "client_mods" (there is also maybe "server_mods"). If you delete all of those, then that will get rid of mods for sure.
Ok thank you very much, that seemed to work. Now I just have to deal with the lag issue! It's nv been so bad and not use to it. Like most ppl, it's fine with single player most the time. With others it's takes a few secs sometimes for it to respond!
