I bought MNC on Steam around the time it came out. I have never been able to play multiplayer because 0 servers are found regardless of the match settings I choose. No update has ever resolved this problem.

My router is a Netgear, and I run Windows XP.

I took a stab at troubleshooting tonight since I'd like to play along with my friends trying the free weekend. I first tried forwarding the ports; it didn't work. Then I shut down my antivirus software; it didn't work. Then I completely bypassed my router and connected directly to the Internet. There were still no servers. Then I deleted and reinstalled MNC, and the result is the same.

I can't think of anything else I can possibly do to resolve the problem. I'm very frustrated. Please provide support, Uber.

Incidentally, every time I run MNC and exit the game, I receive two errors from Windows that it encountered a problem and needs to close. This is not an actual problem for me since I'm exiting the game anyway, but I thought to mention the strange behavior in case it's related.

I think that something blocks the IPs or ports needed to connect to the server with the server list. I'll ask around, maybe I can find the info you need to check that.

Try to ping this IP: 63.234.149.83
That's the IP of the master server. I'll just quote from my chat with Racquemis:

Thank you both for the assistance. I tried the ping, and there was no problem receiving replies. Then I used wireshark to capture activity while starting the game and refreshing the server list. You can download the pcap file here.

i don't know what the game is doing there, those are not server query requests,
to me it seems like steam itself is having trouble connecting to something, it keeps sending and receiving packets from and to 68.142.91.34 which is not the master server.

you may want to write a email to support@uberent.com or steam, tell them your situation and give them a pcap file. they may know whats going here.

make sure the pcap file contains the initial query, so start monitoring before refresing the server browser.
