MNC is teetering on success or failure. Uber needs to be particularly careful about the first major patch release and DLC. It NEEDS to consist of MORE maps. Maybe 3 lanes? Maybe different styles then we have at the moment. Also should consider designing new bots and even endorsements for our class specific bots (Speed, damage, armor. etc) Fix unlimited speed for assassin (which they are) Nerf support's airstrike. (Shouldn't 1 shot juiced people.) And more This is make or break for this game, they do it right this game will gain extreme popularity. We all know you guys were completely inspired by TF2 and Dota, so doitright. TF2 didn't take off until the first few patch release and REALLY caught fire with the medic class update. Add more emote/audio files for the classes to give them more of a personality than they have now. And more stuff. /end small rant
^Disagree. The game has already made it with what..200k sales...for an ARCADE GAME? Everything else you said is valid, but the game has already made it.
Well they want people to play it over and over. It may have a decline without new maps, which are vital due to the plethora of newer games coming out specifically Halo reach taking the majority of players away - it needs some sort of replay value I don't know about you guys but playing the same map over and over gets boring VERY fast.
Let's take a sample game that should have been good, popular, and backed by its parent franchise: Halo wars sold over 1 million copies and 250k in the first day of release Set in Halo universe. Developed by Ensemble Studios (i can haz Age of Empires plz?") At peak times this RTS has 11k-14k people on. This game was well done for a console rts. Good controls, decent gameplay, balance patches within the first few weeks, months, and year of release. However does seem to fail in online games (no incentive to stay in halowars) What they did wrong; Ensemble assumed that Halo + RTS + Them = Formula for Epic success and longevity. The game had balance issues from the start, covenant were the gamechangers of every team game. Otherwise unsc v unsc = balanced. They didn't balance things quick enough and the population of the game left quickly to go back to halo. With Monday Night Combat; Uber is going to have to prove to themselves and everyone else they really want this game to turn out to be a juggernaut for the 360. (NO WAY PC RELEASE IS INCOMING) nuff said ill end my arugment here
OK well i understand that the first patch has to be good. But if a new game mode doesn't come out soon after I'm prob not sticking around. The same old game mode WILL be boring after 2 months. I play this game with my whole clan and got all of them to buy it we love it! But only a few hate it because of only to game modes... But they like the style of the game and everything about it.If you haven't notice a kid posted tug of war game mode? He mad pictures to go along with what he was showing. why not make the maps get every thing done and out and see what people think. I uber doesnt try they will fail, and I LOVE MNC an UBER!!!!
I don't see how you guys are complaining i mean its your opinion but this game for me at-least each game feels completely new and different just because its one game mode doesn't mean its going to fail i see good things for this games future.
Release the software to make maps Uber, so the community can have input on what they want. Possibility of including maps in DLC and online play would add incentive and HUGE, like "OMFG HUEUG DUEDS" buzz for MNC. Valve had a very successful run at this part. "Turbine" and I forget the other user created map that made it into the community update. Atleast consider this Uber. Listen to your community/fans, they will tell you what they want.
The patch will be out soon and 1st DLC shortly after. We don't announce dates until we know them for sure ourselves. There's a process and cost involved getting content on the Xbox, not to mention picking release dates that's not crowded with other games and content. New stuff will be out when its done and we'll announce details when we're sure about it internally. Creating new content takes time and we're working as fast as we can. We understand if this isn't good enough for you then we might lose our audience. Welcome to game development, if it was easy everyone would be doing it.
Well guys keep up the great work you already made an awesome game I hope you guys can make it the awesomerest(real word?) game ever
Good luck on that, with populair games like Reach and BlackOps closing in releasing -anything- must be a pain. MNC is a geniusly awesome game though, i can see alot of people come back to it in a few weeks post their release. I'm not sure if you are obliged to tell us this but how much revenue actually goes to the developer from a DLC? I always felt like i'm paying M$ rather then paying the people who actually deserve it.
