Is there anything like this going around anywhere? Should we make one? Since PA is still in beta right now the AI only has one setting: Dumb. So what happens when you get the hang of the game and are able to start beating the AI pretty handily? Sure you can jump into online play but(If my last game can be used as an example) there are a lot of really good players out there that I can't handle. And I'm sure I'm not really alone in this. So what about some sort of group of people who are either like "I'm new plz halp" or some of the "I'm pretty good but I can halp" who can get together and teach? I know there's videos but not everyone learns really well from watching. They do best getting their hands on the game, but without some kind of guidance they falter. We have a gentleman's league with ranked games in the works, so what about a league for the less-than-skilled-but-enthusiastic? :3
The thing about ranked play is that the idea is to match people of similar skill, the catch being that you need to play a handful of games before it can accurately match you to players with similar skills. Mike
jooin the pa irc that is mentioned in the gentlemens league thread. Yes you might get beaten up, but your best bet at finding people to play is in there I think. Playing good people makes you a better players quickly. PA isnt really hard to learn right now.
I shall try that then! =) I've learned the game enough to beat the AI reliably(Though the 5min 50 Dox rushes still get me sometimes >_> ) and I want to move on to people-games. :3
I beat the AI on my first try. Just watch the vids of PAMatches (Brian Purkiss) and Zaphod1X (I apologize if the x and the 1 are reversed). Helped me greatly.
Could I play a few of these players in a 6 vs 1? Lol. Seriously though I'm open to handicap games. PM me if you're interested in learning or playing games against none AI that you have good odds at winning.
