I don't know if it's just me and Zoom but we think that most of the PC guys are always trying to be funny but are always... you know, painfully cute.
The more work put in before bootcamp, the easier it will be. Plus, after two years of doing nothing but school work, sitting on my *** at work, and video games, I've got to drop my weight before I pass the initial standards.
Nice. Dropped 10 pounds in the last 2 weeks, doubling my running workouts starting today. Got a little bit to go till I talk to a recruiter.
Nothing specific. I mainly just want to get out, get in shape, gain some independence, and maybe get deployed somewhere interesting. I'm fine with pretty much any job they present, but time will tell.
Make sure you get a good idea of what you want to do. Your career choices largely depend on your ASVAB scores. I'm joining the Navy on active duty as a Yeoman. As you said, hopefully I'll also get deployed somewhere interesting.
I took a practice ASVAB 2 years ago, but since I was below 18 it didn't mean anything. Don't quite remember my score, but isn't infantry usually accessible to most? If not, I'd prefer something in infantry and I think artillery could be interesting if the opportunity presents itself. And, looking through this list, I'd be content with near anything.
