Twitter I wonder what endorsement it will use? I'm all for Sprintz, but I think BionoGrip has the most arena sounding name. A map called "Grandma Betty's" would be hilarious.
Wooooow. I love when new pc players have never picked up blitz... Grandma Betty's is the tutorial arena. Spritz is one of the blitz arenas as well. Treat yourself to some turret defence one day, it's fun  Also, GOD I LOVE UBER. GOOD JOB GUYS. The work is so great, I don't see how any player other than the pickiest snob can hate this game. For $15, this game is so damn good, complaints about skill and playerbase any everything else shouldn't even be addressable issues at that price, the game is damn damn good.
Seriously, this game is just more than a quality iPhone game, and I play it WAY more. Totally worth $15, probably worth $50 now that I've played it but that would probably have problems getting new players
So playing since early beta is a "new PC player"? I have played very few rounds of Blitz, as I got tired of the rounds being identical after the first few hundred waves. Yes, I've played Blitz. Obviously not enough to know the map names. Assuming I'm a new player because I don't know the Blitz map names is idiotic. Edit - And after looking up the names of the non-Crossfire maps, I now also know that "Grandma Betty's" is the tutorial map. Fitting.
"Nothing Personal" ~ Guy Play some SFA, SSF4, or some good old Final Fight for the old nintendo lol. Point is, I meant no offence. Just saying, I have been following the maps quite well. There is a link on the developer site of all the maps and their overhead view. http://www.uberent.com/forums/viewtopic ... p+overhead http://www.uberent.com/blog/2010/10/ove ... -mnc-maps/ In case you feel like getting familiar. And as some bonus knowledge for you: The developers talked about new Spunky Cola map after just releasing it in DLC; They said it was based off a map they worked on early in game development, but the map was flawed because (since all characters hold their weapons on the right side) one team had an unfair map advantage over the other because they could hide behind right-handed-cover with more safety while being able to shoot. I believe what they did, was make one side symetrical by mirroring it's bends for the other side, making it from "C"-shaped to "S"-shaped
shitbox 360 version has been out for over half a year now, so even if you've been looking forward to the pc version ever since it was announced, pre-ordered it asap, and played as soon as the beta was released as well, you're still considered 'new'.
I also owned the 360 version since shortly after release, but did not play it much. God ****, what is with people attacking me on this board?
I don't ever remember Mickey Cantor saying the Blitz names. Only comments on how riled up the bots are.
He does advertize products, but also he says it: -In the tutorial, Grandma Betty's Arena, but you only do the tutorial once eh? -In super sudden death blitz, but not always. He doesn't usually say it for regular blitz's
^ Well, okay. However, I think it's pretty hard to miss the billboards on the arena that advertise products. Or something more blatant, like spunky cola. Look at those cans!
I'm just hoping that the lanes on the map meet at the middle before going their separate ways or do something similar. I think there's some interesting things that could be done with lanes in general.
Agreed. Lots can be done with bot lanes to make maps unique, like they did with spunky (merged bot lane into single) To add more to my post, maybe bot lanes could go on the top floor of the arena for a change, and there be windy walk passages below the bridges and stuff that the bots walk on top of. For example, in case of GIII, what if the bots walked along the top instead, and the upper walkway was bigger and had a ramp for them. Another idea, what if your bot lane and the enemy's never meet? That way, each team focuses on pushing bots only on one side, and defending from bots only on the other, making one side sheer turret attack and bot escort, and one side bot defence and turret protect. For example, in case of AM, all hotshot bots spawn and walk on left, all icemen bots on right.
I just want to say that having the bots take an upper path is awesome but just think of what happens simply with the new class walls. Instead make a map that has a lower level kind of like the outer ring around Grandma Betty's arena.
