New DLC issues with 2 players on one XBox

My girlfriend and I both play MNC on our Xbox, both of us logged in via XBox live with unique accounts. We usually play split screen, and since the new DLC, MNC has been unbearable to play, laggy and just not fun. Actually, worse than not fun. Really amazingly frustrating.

What happens is there is a *tremendous* amount of frame dropping going on whenever:

* A player dies and respawns
* A special effect like the sniper ice trap, the sniper flare etc
* Lots of stuff / bots /carnage on the screen.

This makes playing really intolerable for 2 players because in the midst of doing something, she or I will die, and the respawn will basically make the game 5 frames per second for maybe a second, which is enough to cause input to not be registered, someone to die, and the cycle to repeat. Combine this with me playing support primary, and the heal hurt gun being ... odd, not responding the same way and missing targets, its even more frustrating.

The frame dropping for the respawn is by far the worst of them, and happens 100% every time. Every re-spawn when we play together split screen causes massive frame dropping. The special effects dropping frames, and lots of people dropping frames happens often, but its not a 1 to 1 correlation like the respawn is.

Also, even on single player, the game feels much laggier, choppy and not as responsive. This leads me to believe something is messed up on our end?

What could be causing this? I cannot imagine other players who play multiplayer are having the same issues or I would have seen it reported (have I missed that?). We did not lag horribly (really) during our pre-DLC gameplay, other games do not exhibit this issue, so im not convinced its a networking issue on our end. Its literally night and day between the pre-DLC and the latest.

This is really frustrating, because MNC has been a blast for us to play together, and now its just frustrating due to this. We both enjoy the new levels and for the most part, the tweaked gameplay, but this really has put an end to us being able to play together.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, any ideas how to mitigate it?
