Re: Neverwinter Can you explain this for me? What is neverwinter? (All I can assume is that it involves the "winter is coming" thing)
Re: Neverwinter I may try it out since its free (assuming I even have the time to) Never tried D&D before, and not a fan of the "MMO" type of games, but oh well, could be interesting to try something new
Re: Neverwinter I'll be playing a ton in Mumble evenings EST. Love the setting. Played Neverwinter Nights as a DM for 8 years.
Re: Neverwinter I played NWN for years. I've got some pretty strong reservations about the MMO. I'll probably still try it out though.
Re: Neverwinter As it's based off 4th ed, I dislike it. Played it at PAX and it was fun and all, but **** 4th edition.
Re: Neverwinter I'm one of those people okay with the 4th edition changes. At least in terms of lore =P
Re: Neverwinter Character creation has very little versatility. Multiclassing is nonesxistant. Spellcasting loses 95% of its utility. The diagonal rework made circles less circley. Magic items became boring. Homebrewing content is more of a pain in the aft. Combat in general is less creative. If I were to pick the best level based RPG system it'd be Star Wars Saga Edition because it has almost entirely free character creation and versatility. Unfortunately, it's not fantasy and doesn't translate very well. So I settle with 3.5/Pathfinder.
If you're playing on Mindflayer I'll post my details later. Will be playing in Mumble. I think my Cryptic account name to friend request is "kessler082".
As I have little time, I didn't buy an early access package, so I'll probably give it a shot later this week or over the weekend. Looking forward to it, though honestly don't have much clue what to expect. Which I prefer. I like going into stuff like this fairly uninformed. Makes it easier to form my own opinions on it. Maybe see some of you online.
I think we need the charactername@playername handle. In which case mine is Deadmond Lorcaine@deadstretch (Not sure if spaces are used in the handle.
