I think the Internet happened. I don't say he necessarily dealt with all matters of community relations in the best possible way but I can't say I blame him for insulating himself from the community for a while. Also he was probably pretty invested in H&R and it must be a massive bummer for him and many others Uber past and present.
Last time he was active he tried to tell us why Uber decided to not include ladders and stuff in 1.0. But all his posts had like 20 negative posts of why it is stupid as response. I really understand why he doesn't want to share their vision anymore.
Neutrino is the co-founder (?) of Uber, though. Source: "Steve and Jon are our leads." ( http://www.uberent.com/pa/the-team/ )
The poor guy is busy as hell will let him be. Poor Guy. Havent talked to him in a while either. *Has Neutrino's personal email, but wont share it with anyone. was told not to.*
So do I, but you don't see me bragging. But no, his lack of forum posting is... well, these are a forum brah. He has a job to do lol. You can't say he is just abandoning the place, not with Jables being left to watch. Hell, I just hope he knows he did a really great job with PA so far.
Hold on guys. I'm going to go fly out and visit Neutrino at his home tomorrow and ask him what's up with him not being on the forum. Then he'll invite me inside and we'll browse the forums at his super awesome code command center. But we won't post anything - why should I let you guys in on my coolness? Anyway it's gonna be great. But that's not to brag or anything. And besides, he asked me not to give out his home address to just anybody.
I always appreciated @neutrino posting as he's always come over as been very straight forward and open. No pr fluff. The problem however is this is the internet, and being straight forward and open can backfire (as people have a tendency to filter which bits they do / don't want to remember). There have been a few occasions where people have backed him into a corner and tried to nail him down using out of context snippets of information, or even from unrelated discussions. Thankfully I think he (and the rest of Uber) realise this *stems from a love of the game and an intention to 'do the right thing'* for the most part, though it can't be easy to deal with.
Yep, this forum can be VERY stressful to the devs, but not anymore I guess, things are comming along nicely and people are happy
A good portion of which is due to Jables. So i think Neutrino is pretty happy as the community's happy, Jables does his work well and he doesn't have to personally be on the forum for it to be like this.
