The shortage of Review codes is creating unrest among some small gaming sites. Does anyone have review code? I remember reading an ign preview stating they had review build. Will there be any reviews on monday?
F* the reviewers. This game is gonna be awesome. Let the game speak for itself in the next couple of days!
we, the community, the people who have been here since PAX east and even brfore, are the ones who will have the final say, not reviers, or critics, or anyone else on how good the game is. so flip them and let us the gamers, rock and roll with this kick *** game
None of the sites have codes yet (at least not that we've sent). We get a fixed number of codes from Microsoft and they were allotted to the press (big and small) that have supported us through out development. Just in the last two weeks, we've been inundated with requests from sites and I've had to say sorry we don't have any more codes to give out. Almost all of the sites understood except for a couple who decided to make it into some sort of sensationalism stunt. I guess you can't please everyone. Some of the sites that have dbug Xboxes got early access to play the game and to write previews. So happens that Major Nelson and Microsoft is literally 15 minutes from our office so visiting is cake. We're figuring this out as we go and will know how to deal with the press and requests better for future games. Codes should be going out early this week to press. The reason its late is not Microsoft's fault. It's because we wanted to improve performance and fix some bugs that we at Uber were not happy with. We had already passed Certification or gone gold several weeks ago but we really wanted to fix some issues. So because that takes time for the game to go through Certification testing again, the code generation is late too.
Too many "reviewers" out there tend to think that they always have first dibs on a new game and I am certan that some of them do it just for the free stuff, back when halo 3 was a few weeks from launch there was a video (can't remember where from) of some high end game journalists opening a box sent to them from bungie, they were drooling over the LE helmet and freebies inside the box like it was christmas, they were basicly bought out and they didn't care even on camera. There it not one single review site I fully trust, and you always see bad apples when things like codes are short or you don't send them a copy of the game to review, they are all guilty of doing this.
Ya I read a really childish article on rundlc and some other small site that seemed really hurt they didn't get codes. I was like, you want developers to give you code when you act like that? I'm excited for the game personally (why else join the site lol).
Sending them a game full of bugs would have made them all  so everyone else would go  and not buy the game :x . I say good call by Uber.
