Hello, I'm pretty new at bug report, so i'm a little lost about it. -Especialy, i have not found crash report to copy, or other log. -I'm a little confused about version (for example, my PA version on steam is actualy 54382 from what i can read on top of the lobby screen) but their is no such version to select in the tracker. -I see that their is a crashupdate.exe program, launched supposedly when i crash, but i have no clue on what it does. (i'm curious as it alway run (even if PA is close from an hours) ) -if there is a quite similar task, but with different configuration/version of the game, is it better to signal the bug on the existing task, or is it usefull to create a new one? i'm ready to help some time by reporting bug, and i want to do it efficiently, but because i'm a little lost about the bug report process, i fear to just charge the tracker with unusable data. sry for english issue,
no information is useless. besides that, crash reports aren't always necessary if you have detailed information on what happened. If it was a simulation terminated, the uber servers already have the information for them to iron out. You can type down the version you do have in the information. It is a test version not updated in tracker, so just specify that it is the beta demo version. I never figured out crash logs myself. If there is a similar task, you could honestly do both, reply to the already created topic, as well as start your own, unless it is a simulation terminated which uber has enough information to keep track of, so just reply to an existing new one.
On Windows logs stored here: C:\Users\ YOUR_USERNAME \AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log\ Crash reports are uploaded automatically, but you can also find them here: C:\Users\ YOUR_USERNAME \AppData\Local\Temp There is some limit in crash uploaded, so you can always attach dumps from this folder if you want to be sure that Uber will get it. It' just not added yet. You don't need to use this tool on your own, it's upload them automatically when crash occur. If it's looks exactly like on bug just post comment that you confirm it in current version. Post version number, screenshot if required and steps to reproduction if they are different for new version. Also feel free to post issues of any kind, if they're invalid or just duplicate we'll manage it. Only what I can ask about: if possible check for comments in issues your posted, because sometimes feedback required and I need to mark many of them invalid just because author don't give any feedback.
